OLYMPIA, Wash. - As the coronavirus pandemic knocks primary election after primary election off schedule, Democrats argue the outbreak shows the country needs to move toward one of their longtime goals - widespread voting by mail - to protect the November election.
But Democrats’ hopes for using the crisis to expand voting by mail face firm Republican opposition, as well as significant logistical challenges. In some states, it would amount to a major revamp of their voting system just eight months before an election.
Vote-by-mail boosters already lost the first round of the fight. Democrats tried and failed to insert a broad mandate expanding voting by mail in the stimulus bill, a proposal that could cost as much as $2 billion. Instead, the bill included $400 million to help states adjust elections however they see fit before November.
But Democrats in Washington say they will keep pressing the issue, pointing to the increasing number of states that are shifting to mail-in voting for primaries as evidence that the time is right.
“Practically every single Tuesday, we see another state reacting to their inability to run their election in the middle of this incredible health care pandemic,” said Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon, the first state to vote entirely through the mail. He called expanded mail voting “not even a close call.”
Former Vice President Joe Biden, the leading Democratic presidential candidate, joined the push Sunday. “We should be looking to all-mail ballots across the board,” Biden said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “We should be beginning to plan that in each of our states.”

Of course AP and Biden want mail in. If the rats get mail in the general through we lose. No way we would overcome the vote harvesting. They have already got the precedent set in Ohio with the rat primary.
Just a teeny premature, don’t ya’ think ? Pelosi had this in her original stimulus demand, but I believe it is now only an option, just in case the emergency persists......and, naturally, Ds will insist the emergency still exists well past its end.

However, we also have voter registration when you get or renew your driver's license. There is no check on citizenship there.
When you seal the mail in ballot, you are to sign it and affirm that you are a citizen (”under penalty of law”).
Problem is, no one verifies you told the truth when affirming citizenship nor has any one ever been prosecuted for falsely signing a ballot.
As a retired IT guy, I guarantee you I could make this work where there would be no duplicates or illegal votes. However, the dems won’t be looking to do it legally.
The day we do it is the day we lose our country forever.
We should be out and about and semi back to normal by then, with drugs that will save lives, and vaccines that will prevent getting the virus too badly- let’s hope anyways-

I live in WA where we have 100% mail-in
its all the honor system... fraud is rampant.... illegals, multiple voting, dead voting. estimated 10% of all votes are fraudlent.

Virus creates all mail-in ballots, no record or receipt of vote...hmmm.
We have an election day and an absentee ballot system.
It’s been that way for years and everyone knows when it is.
Everyone needs to go vote on THAT DAY and it’s done.
All this vote harvesting and mail voting BS is just a setup for more RAT corruption...period.
Well, since I don’t sit on anyone’s lap, or swap spits with anyone at the polling booth, and simply go in, sign in, and take my ballot from the person, then mark the candidates I want, then take the ballot, and shove it into an electronic machine that records my vote, I don’t see any reason not to be able to vote. If I can go to my local Walmart, pick up a cart walk through the store to do my shopping, pick up the items I want, and take them to the instant check-out, so I can check myself out, bag my items, then put them in my car and come home without getting sick 3 days later, then I don’t see any problem with going to my local polling place, and casting my vote.
I will vote to have all Americans who engaged in treasonous activities in the media to be executed on live TV for PPV purposes to help make reparations to all those afflicted by said treason.
Five states currently conduct all elections entirely by mail:
Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington and Utah.
At least 21 other states have laws that allow certain smaller elections, such as
school board contests, to be conducted by mail. For these elections, all registered
voters receive a ballot in the mail. The voter marks the ballot, puts it in a secrecy
envelope or sleeve and then into a separate mailing envelope, signs an affidavit
on the exterior of the mailing envelope, and returns the package via mail or by
dropping it off.
I know where my polling place is located and I know how to get there and when the time comes to vote I can and will get there!
