Washington (AFP) - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Group of Seven foreign ministers agreed with him in talks Wednesday that China was waging a "disinformation" campaign about the coronavirus pandemic.
Pompeo, who has heavily criticized Beijing over what he calls the "Wuhan virus," said he was united with other ministers -- from Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan.
"Every one of the nations that were at that meeting this morning was deeply aware of the disinformation campaign that the Chinese Communist Party is engaged in to try and deflect from what has really taken place," Pompeo told reporters after the talks.
Pompeo said that China "has been and continues to be engaged in" a campaign on social media that has included conspiracy theories that the United States was behind the virus, which was first detected in the Chinese metropolis of Wuhan.
"This is crazy talk," Pompeo said.
Beijing has appeared to bring the virus under control and has stepped up aid by delivering masks and other supplies around the world -- including to US allies such as Italy, which has the world's highest death toll.
Pompeo minimized China's efforts and said the United States was "finalizing plans" to deploy excess military equipment to Italy.
China is "now making small sales of product around the world and claiming that they are now the white hat in what has taken place," Pompeo said.

Didn’t this virus originate in a Chinese “research” facility
Conjecture, but seems at least not-unlikely. The virus just *happens* to show up first in the same town as an L4 military bio lab?

We need a total embargo of all trade and travel to and from China. Permanently. And send them a damages bill for their virus. 5 trillion sounds about fair.

99% sure the origin was the Wuhan BSL-S lab into the near environs during the world’s most heavily travelled holiday.
Just not sure it was the Chinese that started it all.
It may be worthwhile considering that certain powerful globalist banking interests were witnessing China becoming a serious rival to their loan sharking operations throughout the world via the Belt and Road Initiative and the BRICS investment banking combine. In the mafia, muscling in on someone’s territory means war, and that’s exactly what those Wall St./City of London bankers are - a mafia.

I’m retired but I occasionally do consulting on biomedical engineering stuff and have contacts with various suppliers in China...here is what I got from one in an email this morning...
Now the Coronavirus is booming all over the world and it seems a bit heavy in USA. Hope everything goes well in your family and company.
Pls just stay at home if possible and wear masks if go out, and take good care of yourself and your family.
Besides,would you like to import disposable masks (CE/FDA certified), protective clothing and gloves, forehead guns etc from China?

Besides the Chinese communist party this virus can be blamed on China’s fatally-flawed culture. Chinese people eat off of each other’s dinner plates. China fosters “wet markets” where they store bush meat animals in stacked cages, where they poop and urinate on each other. Chinese peasant family farmers live among their pigs and ducks, and mix the excrement onto their family gardens. Every year migrating waterfowl pick up viruses from the ducks and spread them across the globe.
Yes, there is a difference between blaming this virus on the Chinese culture and blaming it on ethnic Chinese.
