“... like Schwartzenegger who was substituted...”

What do you mean substituted?

There were 90(!) people running for governor and Ahhhrold announced on The Tonight Show.

It was a madcap time!

I doubt any serious Democrats, RINOs or deep state globalists believe they can unseat the President at this point. Jimmy Carter and Bush senior lost re-elections, but there were extenuating circumstances that do not exist today.

Carter had an awful economy, oil embargoes, the hostage crisis, and he had the misfortune of running against the great Ronald Reagan. Bush got totally screwed by Perot’s highly successful third party campaign, which ran on a no nonsense pro-business platform, splitting the Republican vote, and allowing Clinton to win with just a 37% plurality.

Nothing like that is happening in 2020. The Democrats do have political strategies, but any 2020 hopes are focused on flipping the Senate - the White House will have to wait until 2024.

Bottom line - Romney and #neverTrumpers are irrelevant.

Romney is an attention whore and just had his fifteen minutes of fame with this impeachment stunt - now President Trump will torture him just for fun.

Romney deserves it. He is intentionally removing himself using quarantine as an excuse to give the Democrats an effective working majority.

Staying in “quarantine” even after testing negative is simply intentional sabotage of Republicans in the Senate at one of the most critical moments in US history. He could easily and safely show up in a mask and demonstrate some leadership even if he was not testing negative. Now that he is testing negative his all for show, no show “quarantine” is absurd and simply a cover for helping Schumer.

Trump could not be more correct in his assessment of the feckless Romney.

Romney is a useless, cowardly no show who can’t even be counted on to vote “present” when the chips are down

Its this kind of inexplicably destructive behavior that gives rise to conspiracy suspicions because conspiracy is the only rational explanation for such irrational behavior

Welp, Steve, I see your logic. What I can’t see is a Bernie Bro going for Romney. Evah.

We shall see.

That’s a good way of putting it - semantics.

We can disagree on what we think of as a True Republican (not a RINO).

My idea of a “true Republican” is a conservative Republican - and if you’re not a True Republican, you are a RINO, in my book.

I know it’s just semantics - but those of us who feel that way are not “wrong”, as Bert claims. It’s just a different take on what it means to be a True Republican.

I don’t care so much about “staunchness”, or blind party loyalty.

I doubt much money will be spent to fight Biden, just the opposite. It frees up lots of money to get us back the House and the Senate

Sorry, but this is a dick move by Trump. He never understands the difference between responding appropriately and looking petty. This is petty.

This is really great news! I am so happy I can barely speak. He may have been a terrible presidential candidate and an even worse U.S. Senator, but he is a RINO, and I like him a lot!

thats true. right now the democrats lack big momentum but a single trump misstep could change that.

they are all possibly just lying in wait for a rosanne type of mis-statement...

What makes you think the Rats would want him? Even Rats have some standards.

But seriously, I could see Bloomberg trying to recruit him to run Third Party.

“Senator Corker was a Republican but certainly not conservative. Freepers referred to him as a RINO when he was a pure Republican.”

That’s where we part ways. If a Republican is not conservative, I’m not going to call him “pure”. Conservatism is the essence of Republicanism.

The ONLY reason I am a Republican is because in this two party system, Republicans are almost always more conservative than Democrats. If Democrats were more conservative than the Republicans, I’d be a Democrat. It’s not the party, it’s the governing philosophy that’s important.

By the way, I don’t think you should be so quick to call other FReepers wrong when you disagree with them. Especially when we are talking about something as subjective as the meaning of the term “Republican”.

Republican, Democrat, Conservative, Liberal, Left, Right...

There are entire books written in the attempt to define these subject terms. People who slightly disagree with you are not “wrong”.

“...Yes,he’s halfway there but he still votes correctly on some occasions. ...”

Meaning he can’t be trusted; or, worse, he can be counted on to do the worst possible thing at the worst moment, depending on his whim of the moment.

He’s a weasel.

Trump is going to be counter-punching against him for the rest of his life.

LOL...so true! And Mittens has well earned it.
