That is true, when he hits people and just overall acts like himself it’s a way of saying, don’t worry, everything will be fine. He had a moment with Dr. Birx in the Presser the other day when he was joking with her about potentially having the virus and she kind of flashed her hand at him as to stay, “oh stop” and that moment, I suspect, was very relaxing to a lot of people.

i would just offer a WA guess that Romney is still some sort of second order threat to Trump. I have speculated in an earlier post that Romney is positioning himself to switch parties and become a draft (D) candidate for prez, to fill a prospective vacuum should Biden implode. A strategy that would allow Romney to do this would be to (a) snipe at Trump from sidelines; (b) go on record as favoring impeachment in some form; and (c) find ways to avoid voting on important (R) backed legislation before the Senate. Generally, Romney is finding ways to keep himself in the headlines as a contender for the title of “maverick” which could put him in a good position to run for president (especially if Trump makes a perceived political mis-step between now and the conventions). So by trolling Romney Trump is signaling both to Romney and Trump true believers that he (Trump) knows the score, and won’t let Romney get away with anything. Maybe.

Freepers commonly refer to a person committing a perceived non conservative act as a Rino even though the person is and always has been a staunch Republican.
