Why stop with women? We should draft other genders, too. Heck, let’s draft paraplegics! They’re human.
We do need to register women for the draft, because they can perform clerical or technical duties that free up a MAN for a combat billet.
When I was in the Air Force, there were women working alongside me repairing aircraft avionics components. They can wield a soldering iron just as well as a man.
As long as we accept women to volunteer for the military, we can accept them in the registration for the draft.
They should have to register. Equal under the law.
The democrats keep pushing for this. Screwing up the child bearers of the next generation is certainly one way to reduce the population. Dumb a$$e$.
Some feminists are demanding the right to get into combat. There are also some very formidable female fighter and helicopter pilots. If a draft is needed, why should men be obligate to sign up and women would be able to choose whether to enlist or not?
Nobody has been drafted since the 1970’s and there ain’t going to be one - unless the Democrats can get it shoved through as part of a Service to America program.
Kids of regular folks will go in the military while the kids of the “connected” people will get a cushy job counting parking meters in a small town.

This is just another lib idea to devalue men and weaken our military. Don’t make them register. Don’t treat them as equal in all things.
The genders are indeed different. They are different for reasons found in thousands of years of culture and either evolution, or by God. That the genders are different with import physical and mental differences is undeniable. The canard that “what’s fair is fair” sounds good, but it is another ploy by the left. If you think registering them for the draft is going to make things like divorce proceedings more fair, or criminal punishment equivalent, you need to reconsider.

If the draft is for military defense of the nation women should not be drafted as men. Perhaps they could be drafted for short periods to be trained for home defense as a last line when the nation is invaded but not drafted for external war. A strategically useful draft would be universal male with exceptions for disabilities and some of those could be drafted into special units and taught what skills are appropriate for last ditch home defense. The primary Draft should be for no more than one year with no posting to duty stations, intense training only. Then when not at war the men should not be permitted to enlist for 6 months or 1 year. The resistance to the draft has been because of fear. Make it universal (fit male) without sending anyone to post and it becomes a normal part of life. Furthermore, when the emergency arises sufficient will come to the colors that no combat draft will be needed and the universal reserve will be familiar and basically trained, only a refresher course needed..
As a benefit certain sorts of crime would probably be reduced considerably.

It’s a silly exercise. This country will never have another draft in our lifetimes.
If soldiers were conscripted through a draft, most likely there would be a major war and we would be sending many into combat arms. Women would not be effective at the tip of the sphere. If you have a young husband and wife with children, what if both parents are drafted? A draft for woman is more politically correct than it is sensible.
