The numbers in that CDC report are for seasonal flu and do not include Cov-19, which at this time CDC has separate numbers for.

But the problem with that number is the number of cases not known due to the low level of testing being done. Many people with even mild symptoms from Cov-19 are most often not being tested, not being officially identified, unless they are so severely ill that they are hospitalized - then the Cov-19 test is getting done. Then there are the untold number of Cov-19 cases that have no symptoms at all, and again, not tested and not counted. If those numbers were estimated, the way the CDC estimates the seasonal flu numbers, the “reported” death rate for Cov-19 would either lower than or nor higher than the seasonal flu death rate.

We have been seeing these diseases that the US has eliminated slowly creep up at the border.
Chagas has been on the increase for a decade or more.
Measles, TB and the pox are all making a rise.
What does our government do? Sit back and watch America destroyed from within. Sick and tired of it. Spent right at 12 years hunting these illegal grass crawlers and am ready to start up again.
Granted some people that have no (or minimum) symptoms may not register themselves as sick. However, one has to make the same assumption in a normal flu season with people underreporting those numbers as well.
It is difficult to say how deadly this virus actually is. I sincerely doubt that the actual number of fatalities is less than the flu. Based upon the numbers of infected cases versus the death rate that is being reported this doesn’t appear to be the case. We know that from what we are seeing in other countries, the death toll is significantly higher where there is poor medical treatment, bad hygiene, or lack of social distancing. Also, based upon the response of governments worldwide, I don’t think we are getting the whole story. Some are not even reporting or have stopped reporting numbers. So we’ll never know how deadly this virus really was.
Trump has done everything right. The problem is, when this is all over, the US death toll will probably be low (which is a good thing). Then all the naysayers will say shutting down everything was a poor decision by Trump because it wasn’t as bad as everyone made it out to be. If he had done nothing, and it turned out to be far worst than some people here are saying, then it would have been too late.
I wonder how many people who say this virus isn’t deadly would like to be in northern Italy right now.

Granted, and I too have said Trump had a lose-lose situation. No matter what route he took, any result was going to fit the Dim’s “bad” definition and from it a cause to claim the deaths were higher because of Trump - no matter what. Yes, that was a given.
However, Trump was put into that position due to multiple failures by and within the NIH/CDC/FDA. We were caught flat footed by those failures making a South Korea/Taiwan/Singapore type response impossible to start with - no test kits and then multiple delays rolling them out. And then we already had clusters where not enough test kits were out there to do contact tracing and testing, getting the “positives” isolated while not isolating the whole population from itself. I don’t blame Trump for that, but I do blame the medical regulatory state for it.
Unfortunately, CDC is all we really have.
I found the novel H1N1 numbers to be astounding. Yet, not a peep out of Fake News nor gubernatorial despots.
Who was running that national emergency? I forget.
The H1N1 administration would have done well to replenish the stockpile of supplies, including masks, before they were evicted.
