Ram ‘em through Turtle.
They are being t’d up to be confirmed or they wouldn’t have been resubmitted. So it’s progress.
As usual you inspire me to dig a little deeper.
Returns from last session: Adam L. Braverman, John W. Holcomb, Knut Sveinbjorn Johnson, Steve Kim, Sandy Nunes Leal, R. Shireen Matthews, Michelle M. Pettit, Rick Lloyd Richmond, Todd Wallace Robinson, Jeremy B. Rosen, Jennifer P. Togliatti
New
David W. Dugan, Iain D. Johnston, Franklin Ulyses Valderrama, Christy Criswell Wiegand
The last two, Saritha Komatireddy & Jennifer H. Rearden have not made it to the Senate list yet.
I think Mitch might just be fired up enough to push these through. He was really incensed about the impeachment shenanigans.
Bttt
I just love the scent of winning in the air.
This:
Hearings are unlikely for district court nominees without two positive blue slips.”
Extracted from your linked item, is the most salient point. As it stands now (thanks to Lindsey Graham) either of the home state Senators can stop any consideration of a President Trump nominee. The nominees name would sit forever in the Judiciary Committee waiting for a hearing. And the hearing never gets scheduled. Graham needs to eliminate that process for District Court nominees.
They could be useful were they not so abused, and were only used to block judges who were far out of the mainstream. Today, it comes down to the home state Senators getting approval from far left activist groups. So effectively, far left activist groups are blocking good, mainstream judges from rising to the District Court level. Fewer good judges at the District level means fewer good candidates for appointment to Circuit Courts, and eventually SCOTUS. All part of their plan.
Yeah, I could use 5 more years of this.
Didn't see that this group of four had made it to Leader McConnell's fiefdom yesterday.
Illinois & WD Pennsylvania.
Thanks!
Action behind enemy lines can be vital in any war...
They have been submitted to the Judiciary committee so it will be at least a month until they make it to the floor. I read that when they go up for review there is a 2 week minimum lag after the hearings before a Judiciary committee vote and they usually are not passed out of committee until the second time they come up for a vote.
It’s a deliberate...some might say glacial process.
For anyone interested in deeper digging:
The current California nominees will fill 5 Southern & 5 Central openings.
There are currently 9 Central California district court openings and 3 nominees already pending so following confirmation of all nominees there will be one opening left.
The current court composition is 10R:9D, it will be 18R:9D:1Vacant In Central California there are six judges 75 or older so add’l elections of senior status can be expected to occur in a second Trump term.
In the southern district there are 5 nominees and 5 openings. The current composition is tied 4R:4D, after confirmation of existing nominees it will be 9R:4D
There remain two openings in the Eastern District of CA without nominees. The current balance in the Court is 3D to 1 R. Filling the vacant seat will tie this district. Senior Judges 4R to 1D
Sadly the Northern district with no vacancies is composed of 13D:1R
The two oldest active judges are 75. This will be a task for A Trump second term.
In Illinois there are three open seats in the North district & two in the South District. There is one pending nominee
in both North & South. The new nominees, 2 North & one South will fill all openings in Illinois.
Current court composition in the Northern District is 13D:7R
after the nominees are confirmed the composition will be 13D:10R. There is only one elderly judge who was a Reagan appointee.
In the Southern District the current composition is 2D:2Vacant so confirming the two nominees will tie this district.
Central Illinois appears to be lost for the present 4D:0R and no elderly judges
Ouch!
Good to see that the phony old partisan hag is off the Federal bench.
Thanks for the background.
Not tired of winning.
I hope there is karma in store for many more.
Thank you! What an awesome summary. I Tweeted a long thread with this, with attribution to “Freeper JayGalt.
5 of the 10 are Federalist Society. Why can’t they all be Federalist society? A dem would never appoint any judge that isn’t total far out leftist. Not that Federalist Society is the be all end all, but at least its a start. Trump is still appointing pedo and homo (but I repeat myself) judges as well. I guess his handlers allow some FS judges to get through along with homos who cancel out the conservative influence.
Not all Trump judges even support Trump. A trump appointed judge ruled that the White House had to reinstate the CNN (Costa?) white house credentials after Trump had his pulled. A Trump appointed judge ruled that the White House cannot pick and chose who it has in the WH harassing the president or his press secretary everyday.
Who approved that judge?
Imagine what Trump could do if he just had a single true blue conservative handler who grasps the war we are in and was willing to do whatever it takes to win.
Thank you, Larry. That is a compliment I will treasure.
You and Zen Master are my go -to guys. ZM said to remember that many of the district judges, however, are not Rs. Because of the “blue slips,” Yertle and Trump had to get deals done and some of those judges will be Ds who were Zero holdovers. Overall, though, it’s good.
