Rush Limbaugh announces he has 'advanced lung cancer'.

Longtime influential conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh announced on his show Monday he was diagnosed with "advanced lung cancer," a shocking announcement in which he said he will miss shows for treatment.

“This day has been one of the most difficult days in recent memory, for me, because I’ve known this moment was coming,” Limbaugh said. “I’m sure that you all know by now that I really don’t like talking about myself and I don’t like making things about me… one thing that I know, that has happened over the 31-plus years of this program is that there has been an incredible bond that had developed between all of you and me.”

“Was Rush a smoker?”
Not cigarettes, but cigars. He used to talk a lot about them back in the day.

I personally don’t think it will ever be cured, it just Big Business for the medical system. Can you imagine if they found a cure or treatment that was easy to administer, how many cancer centers and hospital wings would have to shut down and how many people would be out of a job. Yes I know, it sounds very cynical.

Yes, the outlook isn’t good, though Buzzy Ginsburg was diagnosed w/ pancreatic cancer, which present no symptoms, until it metasticizes to other organs, and then it’s usually too late.

Maybe proton and gene therapy are possibilities, but chemo and rad are often worse than the cancer.

My wife and I were talking at this moment about the swollen lymph nodes in the lungs of our big old Boxer seen on X-rays at the Vet an hour ago and our "Grand Cat" (our Daughter's family pet) being put down last night with massive abdominal cancer, when I looked at the screen and found this article on the forum list.

I cannot believe it. Prayers and good thoughts to The Godfather of Talk Radio, Rush Limbaugh.

He switched to cigars and smoked, I think, at least 10 a day.

If Bella Pelosi or Robert DiNiro were in that situation I'd be dancing in the streets.Perhaps that would be wrong.

Sad day. Damned sad day.

Been listening to El Rushbo since he first came on Detroit AM radio. Got his Limbaugh Letter for many years, and have a couple of his beautiful ties, too.

He made me know that I was not alone in my conservative, common-sense thinking and positions. He said to many the things I thought and believed in.

End of an era coming. Will miss him and his persona. I put him up there with Paul Harvey, Charleton Heston and Billy Graham.

Yeah. I’ve done both. Stopped over 20 years ago for cigars and 44 years ago with cigarettes. But you always inhale some cigar smoke and it adds up.

A friend got cancer of the throat from human papilloma virus. He smoked cigars for a few decades after quitting cigarettes. Lots of people have the virus and your body can fight it. He obviously had his mouth where it wasn’t supposed to be (think Michael Douglas). It took constant cigar smoke to weaken him enough for the cancer to take hold. He survived but it wasn’t lung cancer.

It’s not the nicotine; it’s the tars that do the damage.

Same here. Rush is a national treasure. Trump should give him the Medal of Freedom.
Turbo-charged prayers up.

“Why is it that the leftist fools seem to live forever?”

“I have noticed for years nasty people live forever.”

I believe it’s because our God is long suffering and he desires VERY much for non believers to come to him so He gives them time.

Prayers, Rush.

You can beat this. If Ruth Buzzy can beat the “Big C,” you can too. You’re a fighter.
