Abigail Disney has weighed in on Kobe Bryant's controversial past, after actress Evan Rachel Wood and a Washington Post journalist were berated for tweeting about a rape allegation against him from 2003, just hours after his death in a helicopter crash Sunday.

Disney - whose grandfather Roy O. Disney co-founded The Walt Disney Company - tweeted: 'I haven't said anything about Kobe so far because I felt some time needed to pass before weighing in. But yes, it's time for the sledgehammer to come out. The man was a rapist. Deal with it.'

I don't need to deal with it. The only people who need to deal with it are Bryant, the woman who accused him, their families and of course law enforcement and the local prosecutor. All of those parties weighed in on the matter and dealt with it. Not sure why this woman believes she has some say in this long-ago matter.

First, I want to apologize directly to the young woman involved in this incident. I want to apologize to her for my behavior that night and for the consequences she has suffered in the past year. Although this year has been incredibly difficult for me personally, I can only imagine the pain she has had to endure. Devout Catholic - I am not sure when either but on the day he died he had communion and his daughter (not sure which one) was with him, apparently lot more devout than most including me.

Re marriage vows, I would hate to have fame and fortune (already have natural good looks lol) the women must throw themselves at you.
