Roy Moore sues conservative outlet for $40 million alleging 'fake news' (Washington Examiner)

Scandal-ridden Senate candidate Roy Moore is suing a conservative media outlet for $40 million alleging "fake news," as he runs his second campaign in three years for the same Alabama seat.

The Alabama Republican lost to Sen. Doug Jones, D-Ala., in a 2017 special election, after facing multiple accusations during the campaign that he had pursued romantic relationships with teenage girls while he was in his 30s. Moore filed the suit against Washington Examiner on Monday.

“Like the people of Alabama, I am sick and tired of ‘fake news’ by media organizations which pretend to print the truth but in reality, are politically and philosophically motivated to distort the true facts for their own ends," he said in a statement. "Unlike some who choose to suffer in silence, I have decided to fight back!”

Who would be a worse nominee—Roy Moore or Jeff Sessions?

Sessions would be far worse. The GOPe will take the votes for Rip Van Sessions as a signal they have nothing to fear from the GOP base and increase there obstruction of the MAGA agenda x 1000. Sessions has done more to damage POTUS and the MAGA agenda than any other single person. He must be defeated.

It's Alabama, excuse me if I don't buy your seeming "Roy Moore is the only conservative seeking the nomination!" claim.

Roy Moore lost because of Roy Moore. Stop making excuses. Trump had the media pile onto him even harder and he won. Won in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin. Moore failed in Alabama.

Nobody here has any business criticizing the Republican Party for failing to support Moore as a candidate when he spent much of his career in Alabama GOP politics as a selfish, petty, disloyal @sshole.

Not only did the GOPe not support Moore they actively campaigned against him to the benefit of a progressive Democrat vote in the US Senate. Regardless of Mooore that is a huge disrespect of the will of GOP primary voters.

Makes me wonder what kind of Bill O’Reilly-style shenanigans Hannity has in his past that make him scared of the feminazis.

“None of those three will ever be elected...”

Oh, I don’t know, I bet Zimmerman could get himself elected Sheriff of the right kind of county, if he cared to run.

You Freepers that attack Roy Moore remind me of Benedicts like the malignant Rick Wilson and their ilk.

“What is it about these two headlines...”

Are we sure the headlines are what he is suing over? Might have been the content of the articles and this story just only mentions the headlines.

“The scandals were fake...”

If someone doesn’t understand that, after the exact same schtick was pulled (by the same Dem operatives even) against Herman Cain, Donald Trump, and Brett Kavanaugh, well, then that person is just a moron.

“ There was a time when I respected Roy. But his wingnut views (the Bible is the supreme law of the United States taking precedence over statutes and even the US Constitution) and his very dicey personal life have done for that. Roy needs to sit down and be quiet while the adults are talking.“

If you are a true Christian then you would never accept mans law over Gods law. And shame on you freepers who fell for the fake news biography of Roy Moore. If you don’t know someone personally you should think before passing on gossip.

It's hard to tell what he's suing over. By my count, Moore has filed at least a half-dozen lawsuits against various people and organizations in the last two years.

He's not a serious political candidate. He's a publicity hound and a "professional plaintiff."

I never believed a single allegation about Roy Moore, and I still think he's a jerk who ought to just disappear.

And for the record, I'm one of the few Freepers who has openly acknowledged that if I lived in Alabama, I would have voted for him in 2017 even if every allegation against him was TRUE.

If Roy Moore was a truly religious man, he would have demanded that the Ten Commandments tablets he wanted to display in his Alabama courthouse would be broken in half -- no?

Because this will provide capital to sue the other players.

The Washington Examiner has become antiTrump garbage except for a few columnists. Like the National Review, the Washington Examiner has choosen dark over light and it will never ever recover.

Huh?

The two-year statute of limitations has already expired under Alabama law for slander and defamation related to anything in the 2017 campaign.

Not that this will stop any idiot from donating to Moore's "legal fund" to support lawsuits related to the 2017 campaign ...

That’s fine. I don’t give a sh!t about them. I’m not even sure I could even remember reading anything of note from that media outlet.

Bottom line is Moore is the person most responsible for his own political demise. We don’t need him. Go away Roy.

I’m sure that’s part of it.

That seemed to work last time. It may be seen as tired old data now. Who knows?
