-- See Post 11. Read all the amendments... --

I think you mean post 21. I posted that. I read all the proposed amendments to the impeachment trial procedure, last week. All of the amendments were tabled.

The nitpick I was making with regard to (fake) subpoena issued to Bolton, is that none was. His lawyers told the House that he'd litigate, so they never sent. This was before the Oct 31 House vote that gave formal legitimacy to the process (there is zero substantive legitimacy).

The House did send one of those (fake) subpoenas to Kupperman, and he litigated it. The House withdrew the subpoena.

The New York times article is evidence of panic. Since it is apparent that the impeachment debacle is lost, desperation forced the issue.

Yo, Mittens, what are the odds that the Swamp Thing didn’t leak this “story” to the New Swamp Times before the House vote and held on to it until now?

In 54 years of voting I have NEVER..... and WILL never knowingly give money to a political campaign.

In the past I’ve given my time, but NEVER money.

Sorry, what is lost? Trump never going to be convicted based on this garbage. The witch hunt will continue in the House unabated through the election. That much is clear now.

Yep. All party line except the amendment to give more time to the parties (house manages and president's team) to reply to motions. That amendment drew Collins across to the DEM side.

The text of the amendments gives a nearly comprehensive view of the DEM strategy for filling the news cycle with garbage.

Democrat media now pushing for witnesses. These people are so predictable.

A normal person would resent being played like that. It should be SO obvious with the Bolton leak yesterday.

A member of the "most deliberative body" in the world should want to absolutely reject being manipulated like that and declare that they are not tools of someone else's schemes.

Instead, our Republicans fall for it EVERY time!

Romney is a rotten communists Democrat...

You use the word, Communist, in every comment you make, but why do you always use the plural form?

Traitor will vote to convict.

I hate mittens but I don't believe that even he won't vote to convict.

He will vote for witnesses, just to be a dickhead.

“ The witch hunt will continue in the House unabated through the election. That much is clear now.”

Well, it’s silly to think anything would ever stop these “Democrats” (they’re truly just misnamed communists)...short of being in a casket 6 feet below ground.

They don’t ever stop until they are are, physically, incapable of even speaking or breathing. So the idea that they would otherwise end their witch hunt is ludicrous on its face.

Yeah. I was gonna say this, too.

Back when Judge Kavanaugh was beinbg confirmed, at the last minute, the Ballsy-Ford letter appeared.

I thought, no way will the Republicans fall for this.

Well, we know the rest. They did and them some. The DNCMedia and democrats had the whole thing PLANNED.

The disrespect to Judge Kavanaugh, the hysterics, the whimpery, little girl voice, everything. A full on CIRCUS.

So I would say to the Republicans, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

I’ll bet thye fall right into the same GD attack.

I’ll bet they fall right into the same GD attack.

If they do, that's squarely on McConnell.

People have recently been warming to him as some parliamentary genius, but if he can't keep his caucus in line over something this important and so obviously contrived, he needs to go.

He's either the majority leader, or he's a figurehead. It's time for McConnell to start knocking some heads and lay down the law on his side of the aisle.

Put an end to this cowardice once and for all.

The call for new witnesses is seeking “state of mind” for an action.

This is the scenario I laid out a few weeks ago:

If the President is seeking opposing opinions that cover the whole spectrum of possibilities, but each advisor is unaware of the questions asked of others, what would an advisor who was asked only about the negative scenarios testify to when subpoenaed?

They only know less than half of what was really going on.

If Bolton only knows what he thinks the President "preferred," and as the President's National Security Advisor Bolton is only asked about the consequences of taking negative actions while leaving the positive discussions to other advisors, how would cherry-picking Bolton's testimony in isolation be received?

How can anyone determine "state of mind" from only one person when that mind is seeking out diametrically opposed opinions from many advisors before making a decision?

The solution is not to demand other witnesses to rebut Bolton's testimony, dragging this out for months, it is to deny any witnesses and make the House to their own job properly.
