Because he is a brittle sitting duck and if the MSM used anything but feathers on him his little airplane would crash like the Hindenburg and they still think he has the best shot.
This allows a challenger with no future in Washington to get his ass kicked without jeopardizing the future presidential aspirations of other younger members of his own party.
I think that if one got real answers to many of the Biden questions it would lead to uncomfortable questions about Barack Hussein Obama.

I've noticed in recent days that Biden's ramblings are being excused by some in the media as "stuttering." I suspect this will be new talking point by his supporters in the DNC and the media. Anyone who is critical of his verbal stumbling and bumbling will be attacked as "insensitive" for attacking a man with a "speech disorder." Biden has been in the public eye forever as a long time member of the Senate, and eight years as Vice President. Not once in all those years has there been any mention of him having a problem with stuttering. Don't be surprised if they suddenly start portraying him as a "highly intelligent man who has compiled an impressive record of accomplishments while bravely dealing with a speech disorder."

Joe Biden is the 2020 version of Bob Dole.
Dole did not have top cover from Fake News and Big Tech. And an ex-POTUS who can GOTV for him in swing states like NC, PA and MI. I’m sure Trump would rather face Bernie or Pocahontas than Biden.
I believe Dole would’ve beat Clinton without Perot in the race.
