Why is the mainstream media so gentle to Joe Biden?

...

Biden’s pattern of gibberish

If you expect a president to be able to speak coherently about the matters of the day ... Biden is not your man, at least not consistently. That’s simply a fact.

The bigger issue is whether his speech is a reflection of an increasingly disordered brain.

He interrupts himself in mid-sentence and goes on extended riffs, introducing new subjects that seem to have nothing to do with what he was just talking about. He is sometimes impossible to follow. And he can get quite irascible.

He is in some ways the absolute verbal opposite of Warren, who speaks in complete paragraphs and meticulously explains everything she says. Biden is more like Ronald Reagan, in that his answers can leave the impression that they make sense, even when the actual words suggest otherwise. But he doesn’t quite have Reagan’s talent for pulling it off.

One of his most famous servings of word salad came during the Sept. 12 debate, when Biden flailed in response to a question about segregation, suggesting, for instance, that black parents have their record players on at night.

In his interview with the New York Times editorial board, Biden was responding to a question about introducing a public option for health insurance, when he had this to say:

[QOUTE] I came up here on the Empire State Building when I convinced the president we should spend $100 billion on climate change issues. And we’re talking about new windows and all the things we could do to save energy for public buildings. And the one of the leaders of the business community was there said, “You know, my” — I think he said live-in help or wherever it was — “came up to me and thanked me for the raise.” She said, “The raise is what you got, reduction in the take-home pay withholding.” No one knew it was Obama, and no one knew what he did.

In a footnote, the Times did its best to explain what he was talking about, but that didn’t really help:

[QUOTE] The Obama administration proposed the Better Buildings Initiative to provide tax credits and other financing for building owners to retrofit to save energy. The Empire State Building did it before the program was passed, but Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden cited the annual savings of $4.4 million in energy costs from replacing all the windows.

Several interviewers have made token attempts — and sometimes more than that — to get Biden to address what they call his “gaffes.” But even more troubling than his gaffes are those not-infrequent lapses into incoherence.

Interviewers also tend to ask their questions in the context of what impression his verbal slips make on voters, rather than what it means about Biden’s fitness. And when he responds — often glibly, and sometimes unintelligibly — they move on.

Judy Woodruff interviewed Biden for the “PBS NewsHour” in November. She asked him whether his “uneven performances on the debate stage and verbal miscues as a campaigner” were preventing him “from presenting a strong and confident presence as a candidate.”

[QUOTE] Biden: Look at me. OK? The fact of the matter is that the people who — they went out and found people who said that. I don’t doubt people said that.

But I have not — there’s a significant number of people, the overwhelming number of people haven’t worried about any miscue or not.

Look, this is for the voters to decide. Take a look. Look at me. See if I have the energy. See if I know what I’m talking about, and make their judgment.

And it’s as simple and as complicated as that.

Woodruff moved on.

This article is so devastating the corporate media wants to make sure you don't read it. How it ever (briefly) slipped through the cracks is beyond me. Email it to all your friends and download it before it gets further scrubbed.

It originally appeared on salon.com but has since been pulled from their homepage, and their own search engine on their website can't find it. Even if you search the author's name, you find all his other articles EXCEPT this one.

The only way you an prove it ever appeared on salon.com is if you saved the link. Check

ALSO, it as briefly posted on RealClearPolitics last night but then it was swiftly pulled with no indication it ever appeared there.

Why is the mainstream media so gentle to Joe Biden?

One reason, and one reason only: Because he has a (D) after his name.

Do many of you, like me, find that when we talk to Dems they say "That must be some right wing thing. If it were true I would have heard it on CNN or the NYT by now."

Such a standard for truth./s

Same reason they are so gentle with any Democrite.

The Ministry of Propaganda has a mission to convince the public that up is down, right is wrong, male is female, etc.

The more the media protects the Dems, the weaker their nominee will be when taking on Trump.

Because in 2020 the MAINSTREAM MEDIA and the DEMOCRAT PARTY are the SAME ENTITY.

Really no reason to explore the question beyond that.

It is easier being gentle to Biden than it was for Hillary.

I think the insider opinion is that Biden is the only Democrat that can beat Trump. But, they’re basing that on the Joe Biden that campaigned in 2012. In eight years, he has definitely lost cognitive skills. Oddly, the party leaders are not able to discern that his problems are permanent and growing. If he becomes the nominee, they will try to replace him after the first debate with Trump. There’s not a chance Biden could stand up to the force that Trump will bring. Trump has ten times the ammo he had when he debated Clinton; instead of talking about what he wants to do, he can talk about what he’s already done.

The only source of dumber quotes is Al Sharpton's:

But resist we much. We must and we will much about that be committed.

I hope the Dems nominate Joe...it would be like showing up to a gun fight with a squirt gun.

I thought Biden was going to be eliminated from the 2020 campaign after I saw the pictures of him nibbling on his wife’s fingers while she spoke. Or was it his daughter?

Why? One of two things.

1) He has made a lot of very powerful people rich?

2) They want to sit in his lap and stroke the fine blonde hair on his tanned legs?

Exactly. The media is soft on all Democrats, but they do jab a bit at even Bernie and Warren. Those two are kept a little vulnerable over one incident or another. But Biden is never seriously touched. He's the anointed one this time. He's not totally crazy, so he has been selected as a guy who might possibly beat Trump.

Right. And that’s why serial liar Elizabeth Warren also gets a pass. And why Bernie “rape fantasy” Sanders also gets a pass. Etc.

And that’s a shame. The Founders realized how important a free press was. But we no longer have much of a free press. But they weren’t suppressed by the government. Instead, they willingly became Democrat stooges and lapdogs.

That’s pathetic. And dangerous.

Several reasons.

One, he is dimrat.
Two, he was Obama’s vp.
The party’s media will never tarnish anything related to The One.
And there is probably some financial shennagins going on as well.
