Trump lauds US economy in Davos, says little on climate woes
The Associated Press ^ | January 21, 2020 | By DARLENE SUPERVILLE

DAVOS -- President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he’s led a “spectacular” turnaround of the U.S. economy and urged the world to invest in America, but had less to say about climate change issues that are a focus of this year’s gathering of top business and political leaders in the Swiss Alps.

Trump kept to his speech script and did not mention the historic impeachment trial that was set to reconvene in the U.S. Senate in Washington later Tuesday. But he couldn’t resist commenting when asked about the trial by the hordes of reporters covering the forum in Davos.

“It’s disgraceful,” Trump said of the proceedings.

Trump reminded the audience that when he spoke here in 2018 “I told you that we had launched the great American comeback.”

“Today I’m proud to declare the United States is in the midst of an economic boom, the likes of which the world has never seen before,” the president said.

Trump’s lone reference to climate issues in his speech was when he announced the U.S. would join a World Economic Forum initiative to plant 1 trillion trees worldwide. Afterward, in an apparent reference to those who warn about climate change, Trump said the world must “reject the perennial prophets of doom and their predictions of the apocalypse.”

“In America, we understand what the pessimists refuse to see: that a growing and vibrant market economy focused on the future lifts the human spirit and excites creativity strong enough to overcome any challenge,” Trump said.

As the late Don Meredith (Dallas Cowboys QB and Monday Night Football commentator) used to put it, “If you can do it, it ain’t braggin’.”

“What climate woes?”

Exactly. There is a weather climate. It changes. Adapt or die.

What is there to say? Climate “woes” is a propaganda blitz as most of us know. The problem is, it is working with the children.

...says little on climate woes...

Baloney. He called the whole thing a power grab and compared it to the fears of overpopulation and peak oil.

I suppose he said little in as much as FDR said little when he said we were officially at war with Japan.

President Trump's comments were the most brilliant of his Presidency--his words should be posted on the wall of every classroom in the country:

This is not a time for pessimism, this is a time for optimism. Fear and doubt is not a good process...to embrace the possibilities of tomorrow we must reject the perennial profits of doom and their warnings about the apocalypse.

They are the heirs of yesterday's foolish fortune tellers...they want to see us do badly, but we won't let that happen. They predicted an overpopulation crisis in the 1960s, mass starvation in the 70s and the end of oil in the 1990s.

These alarmists always demand the same thing - absolute power to dominate transform and control every aspect of our lives. We will never let radical socialists destroy our economy, wreck our country or eradicate our liberty. America will always be the proud, strong and unweilding bastion of freedom.

The only ‘climate woes’ are the desperation of liberal ‘elites’ to have a ‘sky is falling belief system’ to fill the emptiness in their little shallow lives.

Trump’s speech was FABULOUS.

Watch it online.

He went right to the heart of 50 years of BS from the Left: he debunked Overpopulation and Peak Oil hoaxes one by one, pointing out that not only did they not come true, we are far better off then anyone predicted.

The ONLY problem is the imposition by force of Socialist/Communist statism which strangles ALL creativity for the sake of a self selecting few. He pointed out that our economy has done so much better then predicted that the sad social “democracies” of Europe have been left in the dust, never to catch us. He told them that the way forward for themselves was to watch what we do and emulate us, take care of your own and let people be free to achieve.

IT WAS A BRILLIANT CODA TO THE END OF THE SOCIALIST/GLOBALIST ERA THAT STARTED IN ‘68, AND IS NOW JUST A COMICAL RELIC OF THE ABSURD MARXIST/LENINIST/STALINIST PAST.

Planting trees is actually a great idea if -you’re so worried about carbon dioxide which is plant food which we are all breathing out of course!

It’s amazing here in the East Bay California - if you look at pictures from just a century ago , like 1900. or Marin County. And mount tam with the locomotive going up in the 1920s and 1930s. how there was virtually no trees at all !

it was kind of incredible Just rolling grassy hillsides.

and now there are trees everywhere ! giant palm trees redwood trees oak trees ( these were here before white man ). pine trees sycamore trees

trees trees trees everywhere. They’re all about 50-100 years old

If you look at rates of forest station for the whole United States of America is quite incredible how much forest there is now and is continuing to grow obviously

In the 1970s and 80s they started to replant where they had logged out west year and those forests are now 30 to 50 years old

Trees are incredible -what is an incredible building material ! we would not really have life without them

And here’s the thing! I install solar panels for a living!!

and I’m a hydrogen expert ! and of course the entire planet can run on just the sun and hydrogen !

very simply actually ! even planes and spaceships can run on hydrogen

so we don’t really need the federal government to force it down our throat

we can just implement overtime

California already gets more than 50% of its energy from PV during the summer. 30000 plus megawatts

Oil gasoline natural gas these are all fine of course

You’re never going to have another fuel light gasoline which is 1-. liquid at room temperature 2- fairly low vapor pressure 3- high energy density( 118 thousand KBtu per gallon)

Gasoline. Is mostly benzene. Toluene. And xylene.

Hydrogen is extremely critical in making gasoline

Hydrogen could be made at home with a little box that you plug into the wall and put water in - it’s called an electrolyzer

So here’s the bottom line : you can keep paying somebody else for your energy or you can provide it for yourself

Your choice

I just watched President Trump at the giant table of world leaders in business and I have a question:

WHICH OF THE SEVEN DWARVES THAT ARE RUNNING TO BE THE DIM PRESIDENT CANDIDATE COULD YOU SEE AT THAT TABLE?

Trump has such a PRESENSE, such a command of every other leader or CEO at that table.

He is in his element. He is a joy to watch.

Which BOOB CAN FILL HIS SHOES?
