New China virus: Cases triple as infection spreads to Beijing and Shanghai

There are now more than 200 cases, mostly in Wuhan, though the respiratory illness has also been detected in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.

Three people have died. Japan, Thailand and South Korea have reported cases.

The sharp rise comes as millions of Chinese prepare to travel for the Lunar New Year holidays.

Health officials have identified the infection, which first appeared in Wuhan in December, as a strain of coronavirus. They say it has led to an outbreak of viral pneumonia, but much about it remains unknown.

Although the outbreak is believed to have originated from a market, officials and scientists are yet to determine exactly how it has been spreading.

The outbreak has revived memories of the Sars virus - also a coronavirus - that killed 774 people in the early 2000s across dozens of countries, mostly in Asia. Analysis of the genetic code of the new virus shows it is more closely related to Sars than any other human coronavirus.

Experts in the UK told the BBC the number of people infected could still be far greater than official figures suggest, with estimates closer to 1,700

Was put on 50,000 mg a week pills for a while.

I was always a night person, don’t know if that had something to do with it.

I don’t need to look anything up as you are not the type to say something untrue, but I always thought D was for bones.

I have a bottle of D3 1000 and a bottle of D3 5000 right on my night table.

I just don’t take them lol

Given the increased bother and expense of international vs domestic travel, it would not be surprising if the true Chinese numbers were a couple orders of magnitude larger. Given the great expense associated with medical care there relative to incomes, and no requirement that emergency rooms admit patients even without up front payment, there are doubtless large numbers of infected languishing in homes and infecting kith and kin.

7. Meanwhile, some farmer is pissed off and doesn’t pay his Party master
8. The Party member in charge and his mafia buddies in the secret police take the biological warfare pig agent they have been working on and infect the bad farmers pigs using drones
9.The agent unexpected crosses over into the human population
