Bernie Sanders leads Democratic 2020 field with $34.5 million in fundraising in final quarter; Trump raises $46 million

Bernie Sanders announced Thursday that he raised more than $34.5 million in the final three months of last year, an impressive haul underscoring that a recent heart attack hasn’t slowed the Vermont senator’s fundraising prowess with the start of the Democratic presidential primaries looming.

Sanders' campaign said that came from more than 1.8 million donations, including from 40,000 new donors on the final day of the year alone. His total exceeds the strong $24.7 million that Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, announced a day earlier that he'd raised during last year's fourth quarter.

“Bernie Sanders is closing the year with the most donations of any candidate in history at this point in a presidential campaign,” his campaign manager, Faiz Shakir, said in a statement.

Businessman Andrew Yang said he’d collected $16.5 million over the same period.

Strong totals from all three suggest that their party's primary could feature a long and protracted fight at a time that some of the party's supporters might like to see a more clear front-runner emerge. The lead-off Iowa caucuses are Feb. 3, and Sanders and Buttigieg have been among the leaders of a still crowded and unsettled field, along with former Vice President Joe Biden and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Yang's sizable total will allow him to continue to play spoiler far longer than many political observers originally thought.

Who the heck is giving Sanders all that money? It makes no sense.

Bernie is the DNC’s worst nightmare. If he wins in the primary, Wall Street walks and may side totally with Trump (in addition to the fact he’d be president at 80). If he loses in the primary, his base walks and probably a good 15% runs to the Democratic Socialists if he goes independent.

Bernie says this. He’d never lie to keep the campaign going (thus getting more $ he can keep) would he?

I hope the RATS have their worst convention since Chicago in 1968, with multiple ballots and much strife as delegates battle it out on the floor.

Pandemonium, bedlam and chaos galore, leaving their nominee primed to be schlonged by PDJT in a historic landslide as the Demonrats are fractured beyond repair!!

Trump will not have a shortage of money. The challenge will even out once the Dems coalesce around a single candidate.

Only a major sag in the economy or more bogus impeachment charges can derail the Trump train. And frankly, I’m not that convinced any more about the latter. I think more and more people are getting tired of it. Even my liberal brother in law blames Congress for wasting time on this knowing he’ll never be removed from office.

RE: Who the heck is giving Sanders all that money? It makes no sense.

Even more puzzling is this — why are two heretofore unknown candidates, an openly gay Mayor of a small city, and a businessman nobody heard, of raking in more donations than well known politicians?

Didn't make sense for Obama to get a lot of money either. The Dem party selects the nominee based on running numbers in select districts. How do you think Obama got to be the nominee for two terms.

IIRC, Sanders ahs a big youth following.

Republicans underestimate Bernie Sanders to their own peril. This guy has lots of appeal to low info voters. He has a real chance to win the nomination.

If he gets the nod, the best way to beat him is to get very personal. Put a microscope on this guy’s life. Those of you in the military service or have children serving, our military personnel will be saluting a hard core communist if he is elected. The far left will be furious after the president attacks him personally. They will riot.

Boo hoo.

NOWHERE TO HIDE
I made this 6½ minute video in 2012 & posted to UTube. On 6/7/2019, the Utube enemies of freedom removed it along with my 200 other videos there and suspended my account.

The youth do not have money.

They may give support, but donating is not in their disposable income.

Sanders money and the millions of individual donors is a laundry for communist money (probably China).

China does not want Trump to win and will do anything to fund his opponent.

I’m not saying they contribute money...The party is channeling the giving. But he gets the party’s youth vote.

Obama had the backing of the Kennedy machine, which out-maneuvered the Clinton machine.

That is why Hillary bought the party prior to the 2016 primaries so they were beholden to her before anyone announced.

Bernie has Chinese money behind him. Mark my words....those millions of small, online donations are coming from Chinese cyberwarfare soldiers who do not want to negotiate with a re-elected Trump.
