Trump Signs Bill Aimed at Eliminating the Backlog of Untested Rape Kits

TheHill reports President Trump signed a bill Monday to help eliminate the number of rape kits that need testing and are currently stalled in a backlog.

The legislation will provide funding from the Department of Justice to help local governments get through the backlog of untested rape kits. Currently, there are more than 100,000 untested rape kits across the U.S., according to ABC News.

The White House said the Debbie Smith Reauthorization Act of 2019 will ensure that “criminals are brought to justice,” according to a statement from press secretary Stephanie Grisham.

“We know that DNA is much more likely than fingerprints to result in the identification of a criminal, yet thousands of rape kits currently sit untested in labs and on police storage shelves across the Nation,” Grisham’s statement read.

What do you think about this liberal woman?

Trump is moving so fast in every corner of our Republic it's hard to imagine how he can get so much done is so little time.

God bless my president Donald J. Trump.

This backlog, created under Obama, is yet another example of the democraps war on women.

ITEM——As Cali’s top L/E officer, then-AG Kamala Harris compromised the interests of raped women.

Harris was empowered to dispense justice but failed to do so.

Even as we type, hundreds, if not thousands, of Rape Kits are still unprocessed. locked away in a Cali govt basement closet.

Women’s advocates never asked why AG Kamala Harris turned her back on women?

Why she put rape kits in a govt basement closet, and closed the door....thus leaving raped women without a scintilla of justice.

This has been an irritating issue for me. It’s like they treat rape claims the same way they treat a petty theft. And the dirty secret is that once we go through all those kits, I believe a lot of innocent men walking free but waiting for a shoe to drop will be exonerated.

i.e. real rapes can be solved and the perp prosecuted, and false claims can be demonstrated to be so. Once all those kits are handled, the stats will reflect the results.

Welp I definitely do not want women being raped, and I also do not want men falsely accused of rape, and that happens.

Honestly I think anyone making false accusations of anything should be made to serve the same amount of time as the person they were trying to frame would have of convicted.

If this move helps resolve either of those situations, then I am definitely for it.

DNA from semen is hard to falsify. If it’s there, it’s yours.

Now, the argument could be made that it was consensual. I would say that you should keep your pecker in your pants until you are married.

Your “proof” it was consensual is that marriage certificate.

Trump just keeps on doing “the right thing”. The Dems have had plenty of opportunity to help out with this, but noooo, the pink-pussy-hat-loving-Dems just couldn’t be bothered for whatever reason - it takes Donald J. Trump to just do it.

I whole heartedly agree with what you said:

God bless my president Donald J. Trump.

Crickets from feminists...

I started posting about Califorknnian’s backlog of rape kits last year.

California has money for everything but didn’t have enough to process a couple of thousand kits.

Our wonderful previous AG, Willy Brown’s ho, just ignored these kits.

We know ER nurses who processed these kits and nothing happened re identifying the rapist. Those RN’s said that they were not processed to protect the elite rapists and illegal rapists.

California was one of the worse.

When I posted about the problem, it became obvious that it was a nationwide problem.

The worse backlogs came from liberal cities.

Again President Trump stands up and did the right thing.

We may see a lot of elite liberals in government across the nation suddenly resigning and disappearing before the results become known to everyone.

Just curious what this means wrt rape kits. Each one needs to be calibrated before its useful? Are these kits use once only? I know nothing about them, but I am puzzled by how anyone would buy 100K units of something that each unit must be tested before it can be used. Seems like a design problem or, more likely, I dont follow what the article is trying to say about them.
