They’re doing that in NYC and everywhere else now. Every murderer is deemed incompetent, gets “sent” to a mental health facility where he either has to report every so often or stay for a few days...and then he’s back and killing again.

How'd he manage to buy a gun?

...DID he buy a gun before all that?

Surely the paperwork is out there somewhere, if it hasn't been BleachBit'd.

Yeah,
there was a reason that society used to keep guys like this locked up.

That was back before the liberals decided doing that was mean and cruel.

Now they all are running around loose,
living under bridges, sleeping in parks, and such.

The Sandy Hook kid was crazy and documented. He was denied his application for a gun. So he killed his own mother while she slept to get access to her guns. People like this are crazy. Putting them in a mental hospital for a few months and releasing them is just pure insanity

So it’s better to shoot them?

Well he’s not getting a second chance at that, now.

Dude’s been cured of his madness.

It might be hard to imagine but if he and others like him are locked away for good, billable hours dry up for defense attorneys. A taxpayer funded income stream will cease to exist. Therefore, people of this ilk remain among us. That’s why Democrats support criminal activity through their legislation. The defense attorneys are huge financial supporters.

So it’s better to shoot them?

It's certainly better to be able to shoot them, if necessary.

Well, yes, it is better for the rest of society.

What we are looking at is the complete failure of the fraud known as modern psychiatry. They are great at “treating” patients, but suck at curing anyone.

Frankly, the 18th Century practice of chaining lunatics to a brick wall was better for them and for society. If this vile perp had been chained to a wall, he’d still be alive and so would those two parishioners. Who can deny that?

Would he have passed the federal gun check.

He would have had to lie on the application to buy a gun legally. He would have had to check Yes on the Funny Farm Question.

What makes you think he acquired it by legal means. Sawed off shotguns are illegal in a lot of states.

Hmmm, maybe.

I hadn't even seen any discussion that it was sawed-off, so I assumed it wasn't (one early discussion called it a rifle, which implies a long barrel, right)?

Secondly, even if sawed-off, he might've done the sawing himself -- my focus is "why aren't the gun grabbers going nuts about 'we need more gun laws'.

If he acquired it illegally I'm not sure if that would shut them up.
