Schiff Doesn't Want Schiff Treatment In the Senate

Democrats had every opportunity to conduct impeachment proceedings in whatever manner they deemed appropriate. But House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff is now upset that Senate Republicans will be afforded the same opportunity in the Senate.

"I think there are any number of witnesses that should be called in the Senate trial, and many witnesses the American people would like to hear from that the administration has refused to make available," Schiff complained to ABC's "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos. Rep. Jerrold Nadler also spoke to Stephanopolous and echoed Chairman Schiff's concerns about the Senate trial.

Of course, Republicans also had a long list of witnesses they wanted to hear from during the Democrat-led impeachment hearings in the House.

"And perhaps of equal and if not greater importance are the thousands and thousands of documents that the administration refuses to turn over," Schiff continued. "I would hope that every senator of both parties would like to see the documentary evidence."

The Democrats need more toppings on the nothingburger of an impeachment they've cooked up, but checks and balances go both ways, and the Trump White House has just as much right to executive privilege as previous administrations .

Schiff should feel lucky that McConnell isn't planning on holding the Senate trial in the SCIF Room and selectively leaking information to the press, which is how Chairman Schiff began impeachment in the House.

McConnell told Fox News' Sean Hannity this past week that there was "no chance" the president would be removed from office and said he would be coordinating the Senate trial directly with the White House Counsel's Office.

"The case is so darn weak, coming over from the House," McConnell told Sean Hannity. "We all know how it's going to end. There's no chance the president is going to be removed from office. My hope is there won't be a single Republican who votes for either of these articles of impeachment and Sean it wouldn't surprise me if we got one or two Democrats."

If the House sends the two articles of impeachment over to the Senate, McConnell said the Senate would take up the articles at the beginning of the new year and focus solely on the Senate trial, which McConnell hopes will be a shorter rather than a longer process.

Schiff was on Fox News Channel today interviewed by Chris Wawass.

Schiff kept saying that the FISA abuse was a real eye-opener and that he had no way of knowing what had gone on on the FBI, and he said that knowledge would have changed his position on the Russia Investigation/ Chris Wall-ass accepted everything the bug eyed slime said without question.

But thefact is tha Devon Nunes informed Schiff repeatedly about the hoax via intel committee discoveries that Nunes had made. Nunes also was one of the first to reveal the attempted coupe to the President. Schiff did indeed know two years ago that the FISA app was bad premised on the false Steele report. Nunes had informed Schiff in committee.

What did Nunes get for his trouble? An ethics complaint on Nunes , so that Nunes had to vacate the committee chair until the ethics complaint was processed, a period of about 4 months. Schiff was trying to get rid of Nunes from the Commitee for good because of what Nunes had discovered.

Two take aways:

1) Schiff is still lying about when he knew that the FBI work on Carter Page was dirty. He was lying right on television to millions about it.

2) CHRIS WALL-ASS LET SCHIFF GET AWAY WITH IT, ON PURPOSE.
WALL-ASS IS A STONE COLD SOCIALIST PRIG, NOT TO BE TRUSTED.
From now on I will view Wallace as just another CNN reporter.

The Senate should vote for a trial ‘inquiry’. You know, nothing official, just a looksee. Secret testimony can be recorded. Some doesn’t really need to be released - only the cherry picked parts. It’s all been done before.

Yep, I saw that and it proves again that Schiff is a baldfaced liar.

You’re right about Wallace being a leftist socialist also.

I fear they will, and they’re too well-ensconced in their respective states to be successfully primaried.

All we'll be needing for Schiff's trial is a drumhead and a rope.

“”When it comes to a vote, President Trump will not get a HOUSE vote of impreachment””

You’re dreaming. Of course, there will be enough votes in the House for impeachment. For anyone to think otherwise is dreaming and deluding themselves. Nancy already has the votes counted - she needs 216 and can get 231 according to reports. There are 246 dems in the House so I don’t know where the other 15 stand.

She could lose 10 who are leaning toward censure and still have enough. Sure hope she’s losing sleep with these numbers rattling around in that thing in her skull that passes for a brain. What if she lost more? SUPER!

I’ve heard that she wants the vote before recess for Christmas because she wouldn’t be guaranteed the 216 votes after they all return in January. Not really sure WHY that is as all the numbers are touting the public WANTS him impeached so what’s the downside for her?

If they do, that would mean a thin victory indeed, 50/50, unless some Dems cross over.

Even with the 2/3 majority requirement and the VP’s tie-breaker, the Dems will claim that Trump was let go easy on a technicality. They’ll always claim something, and who really cares. But the less they have to carry on about, the better.

The Senate should stipulate that because the witnesses called by the House were sufficient to level the charges, they must be sufficient to try the case. HOWEVER ... they should stipulate to ONLY call first hand witnesses ... oh wait that would mean the can only call Sondland who “presumed” and “guessed” and “thought he understood” way too much.

I completely called this out.

I knew that if impeachment goes to the Senate, the clarion calls from left-wing groups will descend on Washington and demand McConnell recuse himself. Already, they're attacking Barr as Trump's Frank Nitti.

I can’t shake the feeling the good ole Mitch is going to do the Republican usual, that is, play nice, play fair, cave and say we have to do this so we don’t be accused of not letting the Dems have a fair trial blah blah.

Romney will vote to impeach of that I am sure.

I believe I read that the VP can’t vote on impeachment process in the Senate as it will favor him.

It’s moot, anyway. Best case scenario for the Dems is they get a fifty-fifty vote.

But if I were Pence and I did have the tie-breaker vote, I would vote for acquittal with bells on. After all the sh!t they’ve been throwing at Trump non-stop, you couldn’t pay me enough to take his job. And he donates his annual salary, which to him is chump change. I would love to see his bust, with a long red tie hanging down, carved onto Mt. Rushmore. They’d put his ass on the other side at the foot of the hill for penitent libtards to kiss. He is as uniquely American as Mark Twain, and in his own way a great, historical POTUS.
