Speaking from the Oval Office Friday afternoon during a meeting with Paraguay President Abdo Benítez, President Trump reacted for the first time to Democrats on the Judiciary Committee approving two articles of impeachment against him.
"It's a witch hunt, it's a sham, it's a hoax. Nothing was done wrong. Zero was done wrong. I think it's a horrible thing to be using the tool of impeachment, which is supposed to be used in an emergency and it would seem many many years apart, to be using this for a perfect phone call where the President of that country [Ukraine] said there was no pressure, didn't even know what we were talking about, it was perfect, the relationship was perfect, I've done much more for them than Obama did for them," he said. "It's a scam, it's something that should not be allowed and it's a very bad thing for our country and you are trivializing impeachment and I'll tell you what, someday they'll be a Democrat president and they'll be a Republican house and I suspect they're going to remember it."
"When you use impeachment for absolutely nothing other than to try and get political gain, now with that being said, as you know my poll numbers have been through the roof. Fundraising for the Republican Party has gone through the roof, we're setting records...because the people are disgusted. People are absolutely disgusted," he continued. "I've watched these Democrats make fools of themselves. Absolutely fools of themselves."
President Trump also noted that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was "duped" in an interview during POLITICO's Women Rule Summit in Washington D.C. this week. During questioning she admitted House Democrats have been trying to impeach him for nearly three years.
"It's a hoax and Nancy Pelosi knows it. By the way they duped her yesterday, she was on an interview and she said 'we've been working on this for two-and-a half years. So she was working on it, in other words, two years before we ever spoke to Ukraine," he said. "The reporter was shocked when she got this answer because it showed that she's a liar."
As far as a timeline and the kind of trial in the Senate, President Trump said he wants full transparency and for Republicans to call witnesses, like the whistleblower who filed a secondhand complaint about the Ukrainian call, to testify.
In the meantime, the White House legal team is ready to go to war.

Graham, on Hannity, has already told Rosenstein to "get ready to testify."
The senators ought to cover all the FBI BS and everything else since Trump was elected. Maybe even drag the Clinton Foundation people in to testify.

Clinton’s impeachment was only about 20 years ago. It is too soon to do again.

Trump should tweet he is ordering an investigation of every House member and their finances.

McConnell, Graham, Grassley have been doing the rope-a-dope, keeping everyone wondering what they will do if there is a Senate trial. So if the Dems are dumb enough to vote for impeachment they will be walking into a booby-trapped box canyon. Their escape route will close behind them. It will be glorious.
