President Donald Trump on Wednesday vowed to “crush the monstrous evil of anti-Semitism” as he signed an executive order giving the federal government more tools to defend Jews from anti-Semitism through civil rights laws protecting against discrimation on college campuses.
The move is a welcome step to define the problem and empower the government to investigate such threats on campus, but American Jews are facing increasing intimidation and peril that go well beyond the university quad.
What we are seeing today is the mainstreaming and normalizing of anti-Semitic tropes by elected leaders and media personalities that then empower bigots.
One of the worst offenders is the president’s favorite network: Fox News.
On Nov. 13, Joe diGenova, a frequent guest on “Lou Dobbs Tonight” on the Fox Business Network, maligned Jewish financier and progressive activist George Soros, claiming he “controls a very large part of the career Foreign Service of the United States State Department.” DiGenova continued, “He corrupted FBI officials, he corrupted Foreign Service officers.”
Accusing Soros of “controlling” the government and world affairs is an enduring anti-Semitic slur. It is rooted in “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” Czarist propaganda invented early in the 20th century to demonize and scapegoat Jews. The propaganda has likewise been used as the basis to demonize, persecute and even slaughter Jews around the world for generations.
We cannot win the battle against anti-Semitism and hatred in society through executive orders and legislative fixes alone. While these protections are important, we also need our news media to be fully accountable to the public they serve. Greenblatt is an American Jewish KAPO. On the other hand, there's never been any doubt that Marx was virulently anti-Jew, and while I can't say I know that Soros has the same level of hatred for Jews, he was born a Jew, but there's no doubt that he doesn't self-identify as Jewish (unless to claim victimhood,) and he certainly doesn't have any love for Israel, America, or any sort of national sovereignty.
Anyone who claims victim-hood for Soros is lying.

I know I know. It was prophesied that one day, George Soros would be born of a Jewish mother. But nobody knew what that meant back then, and they were more concerned with the ingredients of matzah, and other sundry accusations.
But let’s talk about George Soros for a minute. Yes, he is nominally Jewish. Yes, he is a financier. And that is the very point. He is acting like the living embodiment of an anti-Semitic canard. And though fair-minded people cannot reasonably hold him against all or even most Jews, the fact that he is nominally Jewish DOES NOT MAKE HIM IMMUNE to criticism for his ACTUAL BEHAVIOR, which is what tends to reinforce anti-Jewish canards, NOT FOX’S REPORTING OF THE FACTS OF HIS BEHAVIOR, DUMBASS!
If there were a black man who did nothing all day but get drunk and spit on passersby, and then prowl the streets at night mugging people, it would not be racist to point out those facts, especially without making reference to his race as an explanation for his aberrant behavior.

Their only argument for anti-semitism is that Fox criticize Soros. The equivalence of these two things is simply absurd but I can see why they try. They can’t obviously focus on “the squad” and their BDS movement so they make things up.

The governor did not pardon Leo Frank. He was going to commute his death sentence to life in prison, because the evidence against him was thin, and in reaction, he was lynched. We’ve been through this.

all the court appeals had been exhausted, Frank’s attorneys sought a commutation from Georgia governor John M. Slaton. Thomas E. Watson, a former Populist and the publisher of the Jeffersonian, had conducted a campaign denouncing Frank that struck a chord, and Georgians responded to it. Watson’s accusations against Jews and Leo Frank, in particular, increased the paper’s sales and elicited enormous numbers of letters praising him and his publication. As Watson continued to fan the flames of public outrage, his readership grew. By the time Slaton reviewed the case, there was tremendous pressure from the public to let the courts’ verdicts stand.
Slaton reviewed more than 10,000 pages of documents, visited the pencil factory where the murder had taken place, and finally decided that Frank was innocent. He commuted the sentence, however, to life imprisonment, assuming that Frank’s innocence would eventually be fully established and he would be set free.
Slaton’s decision enraged much of the Georgia populace, leading to riots throughout Atlanta, as well as a march to the governor’s mansion by some of his more virulent opponents. The governor declared martial law and called out the National Guard. When Slaton’s term as governor ended a few days later, police escorted him to the railroad station, where he and his wife boarded a train and left the state, not to return for a decade.

After Slaton’s commutation, Frank was interned at a prison farm in Milledgeville for just under two months. During his internment, a fellow prisoner slashed Frank’s throat with a knife, though he survived. Frank’s stay at the prison farm was cut short on the night of August 16, 1915, when twenty-five prominent citizens of Marietta, identifying themselves as the Knights of Mary Phagan, caravanned to Milledgeville, took Frank from his cell, and drove him back to Marietta, Phagan’s hometown, where they hanged him from an oak tree. Only months later, many of these same men would take part in the nighttime ceremony at Stone Mountain that established the modern Ku Klux Klan.
A crowd of nearly three thousand people gathered the next morning in Marietta to view Frank’s hanging body. The crowd grew increasingly unruly, and undertakers had to wrestle Frank’s body away before it could be further battered.
