Say goodbye to plantation weddings, as well as the harmless pastime of enjoying photos of plantation weddings.

O.K., so the Great Pyramids were build with slave labor, right? So, tell people to quit getting married there.

The Coliseum in Rome saw people being deliberately killed for sport or fed to lions (and it wasn't just Christians being sacrificed).

How about Mayan ruins that were used for human sacrifice?

Where does this crap end?

I think this started with wedding parties posting pictures of themselves clowning in and around slave cabins on some of these plantations such as Boone Hall. That is not too sensitive.

Utter garbage - when will this SJW organization insist that the state of Rhode Island change its name to eliminate the “plantation” reference in the official name?

I think this is excellent!

Gentlemen, if your fiancée subscribes to this - call off the wedding and run before she lays claim to half your stuff.

Consider it like a warning label: Don't ingest gasoline, don't stick your hands under a running lawnmower, don't use this appliance in the tub, and certainly don't marry this crazy broad.

Bake the cake, run the ad, or enrich the lawyers and sue the magazine out of existence.

If this idea is extended to include every place where unpleasant things have happened there will be NO place acceptable for anything. How about the castles and mansions of Europe and elsewhere, plus innumerable ME sites, and the horrendous things that have happened there that makes them “unfit” to visit. Isn’t “living in the past” a form of mental illness?

Have they banned Gone with the Wind yet? The book? The gorgeous movie based on it? Hattie McDaniel played a slave and got an Academy Award for it....will they ban her too?

How about cruises up the Mississippi to see the gorgeous plantations north of New Orleans?

How about banning New Orleans too? Maybe they should ban all the states that fought for the South in the Civil war?

And those of us whose ancestors lived in those states at the time of the war? And fought for the South........are our marriages annulled?

Well you know, barn weddings are a big thing.

Barns are places where animals are imprisoned, tortured and killed to satisfy the appitites of their masters.

So seriously, holding weddings in these prisons...???

So taking something where bad things happened and turning them to good use is a bad thing?

These nutcases have too much time on their hands...

prohibiting adjectives like “charming” to describe venues where many Americans’ ancestors were once enslaved, tortured and raped.

Sugar, you do realize that once you do that you have so labeled the entire world?

There is not a place on this planet where people were not at some point been enslaved, tortured and raped.

In fact you would have to eliminate New York City first of all. Although in all fairness I don't think the word "Charming" applies to that spot.

Well, my state of Alabama used to allow slave ownership, was once part of the Confederacy, even hosting the Confederate capital in Montgomery.

I guess that means no one should be allowed to get married in Alabama, no?

And also Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Florida, South and North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee, right?

But just a minute... Slavery was allowed in many more states than that, so let’s strike, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, Kentucky and Missouri, too.

And when did those more Northern states outlaw slavery? They had it as British colonies, no?

Better ban ALL weddings in the United States, the United Kingdom and former British colonies world-wide, just ot be safe.

I didn’t think they’d do such a thing, the groom might wake up and realize he’s actually the slave.
