I see. So elected officials are very willing to buy devices to catch people using a mobile phone while driving, but unwilling to spend a cent to keep the people safe from *slamic terror. They have made that quite clear.

They rush to implement systems to control the normal people, but are totally unwilling to do anything to control insane jihadis.

This is always the case. Government always chooses tighter control over the people, not more freedom. Even in the USA.

I’m making a faux arm & hand, hands-free cell phone holder.

Comes in several shade and left & right hands.

Sure it may cause some death and destruction to a few innocent bystanders during the immediate implementation period but, in time, the survivors will figure it out...

************

LOL.

No they won’t. If they were able to do that, wouldn’t need that self destruction in a vehicle gizmo in the first place.

"Big Brother with Five Eyes is watching all of us."

No wonder I'm reading more stories about people 'chucking-it-all' and going to live in isolated caves.

Nope. It’s distracting you from driving, even drinking water or any other type drink. In the UK this woman was ticketed by one of those traffic wardens when she took a drink of water while stopped waiting at a traffic signal.

And here I was under the mistaken impression that Australia was a free country.

For me, that impression went away when they disarmed virtually the entire country due to the actions of one lone criminal.

Years back during my morning commute on Interstate 5, I would see people with the morning newspaper spread out on the steering wheel.
I also witnessed a woman masturbating while driving on Highway 99 near Boeing Plant II - talk about distracting.

Using a Cell Phone?

Heck, they already drive on the wrong side of the Street.

Will it take a picture of their Gun Rack too?

Well, next time I’m in Australia, I’ll have to commit my crimes the old fashioned way, I guess!

Are they going to fine the cops too?

Almost every time I pass a police car, the officer inside is talking on a cell phone. Almost every time.

If it’s good for the goose (US) it should be good for the gander (the police).

And don’t give me that crap that they’re specially trained - So was I. I was a driving instructor for the US military when I was issuing new MRAPs in Afghanistan.

I got pulled over on New Years Eve a couple of years ago... knew it was a cop following me for several miles having picked me up right after leaving a bar. Said I was varying my speed and going under the speed limit. Yep, it was late at night, roads were icy, there was a long curvy downhill with unknown traction, I don’t drink, and BTW I used to be a driving instructor for the military. The officer backed down pretty quickly, but still ran my license.

I'm all for the surveillance and the fines........Three years ago one of my best friends was rear ended by a pick up truck while he was slowed down in a construction zone doing maybe 15 MPH. This was on an expressway and the driver of the truck never even slowed down because he was distracted by his cell phone. My buddy's wife was killed instantly.

That same summer my nephew's best friend was seriously injured and had to have his foot amputated above the ankle because of a girl who was in oncoming traffic got distracted by her phone and swerved into Michael's lane, hitting his van head on.

I once drove from Woomera to Port Augusta in South Australia (about 110 miles) at 0 Dark thirty on the WRONG side of the road for almost an hour. This was on the Stuart Highway, the main North-South highway in the middle of the continent.

This was because I was American, really tired, and there is almost no traffic in Australia outside of the cities.

I moved over to the left when I realized a road train was coming right at me. It was about a mile away when I moved. I first saw it about 25 miles away... Came out of my stupor when I realized I was on the wrong side!

I thought it was about an app for your phone to detect cameras:)

The camera function will often detect IR illuminators on security cameras...
