Great catch... ding, ding, ding - we have a thread winnah!
The timing of him signing it is absolutely perfect. This is like picking a stock at the absolute best time and selling it at the absolute Peak highest point. With them winning so many elections and the world watching and European sentiment turning against the Chinese he could not have picked a better time.
Thank You. :)
Go USA/HK!
Support to Hong Kong from the USA!
If the HK protesters want to be the next state in the US, they should have 58 stars...57+1.
Yep.....but you all know I like doing this to! Photos tell a story that media often misses or gets wrong.
Love to know if the Rocky Series of films has a historical significance in Hong Kong.
The man is a flippin genius, I bet the media never shows this photo below...
That's right, you're still making no sense.
Just HK for San Francisco, straight up. HK becomes our free trade zone/gateway to China and San Francisco becomes China’s to the USA. And each city’s citizens get the form of government they prefer. :)
I noticed that too!!!!
I’ve a great deal of sympathy for the protestors, though Hong Kong is part of China, and save the period from Queen Victoria to the last couple years of Clinton, has been for over two millenia. That said, it’s a small place, 427 square miles. Los Angeles, 503, San Francisco, only 47. I see a deal to be made.
“That’s right, you’re still making no sense.”
Not me.
I do not see the rationale behind thinking that “This bill was submitted only to derail Trumps sensitive trade talks with China.”
And the fact that no one could explain the reasoning and only smarmy comments ensued indicates there is no reason to think that you or others have the ability to articulate the reason.
It wasn’t rocket science.
Actually, your smarmy comment to me elicited the appropriate contempt. Sod off.
Sod off?
Funny.
I don’t know why you’re so defensive.
I'm not. Why you're so offensive is pretty obvious.
Yup. :)
If only!
>> Rather have them then either DC or PR...
> Really??? Hong Kongs population is 7,700,000. More than Puerto Rico and DC combined. Asians vote 75% leftist in the US. Glutton for punishment arent ya??
Despite the many well-meaning and interesting Freeper suggestions, I think people in Hong Kong are not asking for entry into the US; they are asking for help to push back the communists who are trying to turn HK into just another city of China. They want to be able to preserve their way of life IN HONG KONG, because obviously they love the place.
And why wouldnt they? Hong Kong is a vibrant city with which the US enjoys an annual trade surplus of > $30B. Compared to the US, they have a lot less problems with leftism, political correctness, and on social issues such as diversity, homosexuality, transgenderism, etc.
Should have included this in my last reply to you:
Asians are not a homogeneous group. Those who originated from HK represent only a tiny fraction of the Chinese population in the US.
