In 2020, remember this:
Republicans are the party of Uber.
Democrats are the party of taxi cab unions.
Own your own labor, work where you want and how you want, and embrace innovation. Thats conservatism
(Excerpt) Read more at mobile.twitter.com ...
Uber can be somebodys side hustle, but you need a steady good paying job with benefits to get married and raise a family. And no bank will let you buy a home based on unpredictable Uber earnings Weve been outsourcing those good jobs to Third World Countries for years, thanks to Bush Republicans as much as Clinton Democrats. MAGA is about bringing them back and restoring the middle class, esp in Trump-Democrat states of the upper Midwest
Also, we have to stop importing foreign wirkrrs to undercut the wages of Americans
Get with the MAGA program, Crenshaw!!!!
Does Crenshaw even know what party he is? 1-eyed John McCain Jr wanna be.
He is kind of a wacko. No?
Crenshaw is a govt employee with great benefits and retirement plan. Easy for him to tell others they should embrace uncertain, benefit-free gig jobs and be happy about it
He’s using metaphors. They are pretty good.
I would have said Dems are the party of taxi MEDALLIONS and unions. With the medallion system, you need to get government permission to be in the business, you have to pay a HUGE fee to the government, and the government artificially rations the supply below demand. None of these things exist in the free-wheeling world of Lyft and Uber.
Trump didnt run to promote a gig economy. He explicitly ran to bring back good, full time manufacturing jobs - the kind of jobs that Bush and Clinton allowed to go overseas and to Mexico. Bringing those jobs back is what the Republican Party under Trump is about. Branding the GOP instead as the Uber party takes us back to the pre-Trump years, the Bush-McCain-Romney years, when we consistently lost the blue collar voters that Trump won
Crenshaw sounds like a Bush Republican. A loser
The shine I used to see on Crenshaw has eroded away.
He is certainly heading in that direction, it would seem.
We need to start competing for California. We can start turning things around, because there are obvious issues from their disastrous environmental, fire and energy policies, to their filthy public health issues, that we can do better on. The gig economy and flexibility is something that makes a difference to people in California.
I find it so funny that all the new startups and tech companies run by liberals, with an idea, who support and promote all things liberal, go to such extraordinary lengths to avoid doing the most fundamental things like, paying payroll taxes. They use their lobbyists and lawyers to convince the government that these people fall into this or that classification, so the company isn’t responsible for this or that.
Before I get crushed, I don’t think we should be paying any taxes other than a national sales or consumption tax. For all the social justice BS that they spew and support, seems like a pretty significant number of these liberal-run organizations are masters at paying for benefits and tax avoidance.
For the record, Uber & Lyft have helped me a lot. I became a driver three years ago, and have been driving at least part-time since then. Then in October 2018 I was laid off from my day job, and thus I now drive full-time. I am 60 years old, and these days it is hard to find an employer who is willing to pay someone with my experience what he’s worth. They’d rather hire someone in his/her 20s or 30s and pay them an entry-level salary. Now if only both companies were less liberal, and based somewhere besides San Francisco . . .
You are espousing ignorance on taxi regulation, likely sourced from MSM.
It is a distinct minority of municipalities which utilize the medallion system.
In my state, cities regulated their taxi services well. Then suddenly Uber rode in on its horse and broke laws, bribed officials, utilized software to deceive investigators and undertook a media campaign to generate public support for a system which has rocked locally-owned companies and family wage jobs in favor of a system which is - in reality - FAR from what Uber’s media campaign says it is...
Furthermore, Libs/dems supported ridesharing wholesale. In my state they rolled over like a bitch for uber.
If you are not ignorant, you failed to clarify your comment. I have 5 years of research & writing on this topic to the tune of nearly over 500 hours; I know this topic very, very well.
Clearly Crenshaw should think before ‘speaking’ on twitter, as he he’ll look plain silly with an eye patch and a foot in his mouth.
I can proudly state I warned my fellow Texans in his district to NOT vote for him.
A loser who lost an eye defending your ass
Show some respect....
Republican is the party of Hardcore Socialists
from cheap labor foreigners.
The losers lost California to their socialists.
Crenshaw is a useless novelty act
Please stop posting what this asshat Crenshaw is blathering about.
