Multiple forms of socialism, from hard Stalinism to European redistribution, continue to fail.

Russia and China are still struggling with the legacy of genocidal communism. Eastern Europe still suffers after decades of Soviet-imposed socialist chaos.

Cuba, Nicaragua, North Korea and Venezuela are unfree, poor and failed states. Baathism -- a synonym for pan-Arabic socialism -- ruined the postwar Middle East.

Why do polls show that a majority of American millennials have a favorable view of socialism?

Because Work is hard and doesn’t leave enough time to smoke weed, play video games and jack off with their buddies.

Indoctrination.

They have never been taught how to think critically, and have been told socialism is good and fair and wonderful while capitalism is mean and unfair and hateful.

Because they’re entitled little twits who have been brainwashed to think they’re special, work should come easy and only do what you’re told or you’re a racist homophobe nazi.

Because we have created at least two generations that know absolutely nothing other than they are the most special people to have ever walked the erf.

Socialists will explain that the only reason socialism has failed is because it hasn’t been done correctly and they will do it right if they’re in charge.

But the best explanation is this: the reason so many like socialism is because they haven’t tried it.

I think a lot of Millennials are confused about what the term “socialist” actually means. Does it just mean a totalitarian state that controls all the means of production (North Korea and USSR under Stalin)? Does it include countries like China that allow some private industry but still have authoritarian governments? Does it include Western European countries with their national health care? Hard to tell when the term “socialist” is thrown at anyone who disagrees with you these days, much like “racist”.

“Why do polls show that a majority of American millennials have a favorable view of socialism? “

Honestly, youthful idealism. It just hasn’t been crushed by real world life experience yet.

Because they were raised in a world of anti-bullying campaigns, helicopter parents and participation trophies.

They were raised to believe life should be FAIR.
Which it never will or can be in a free, open, capitalist society.

So they are willing to turn to socialist tyrants to impose “fairness”.

Because millennials have been indoctrinated by commies during their entire education from kindergarten through college, duhh.

They have been indoctrinated by the teachers unions and kept ignorant by the media. Neither teach about what has happened in Venezuela over the last 20 years.

Most of us figured that out in our mid-20's. Some of these people are pushing 40 and show no signs of figuring it out yet.

“Socialism Isn’t the Cure. So Why Do Millennials Like It?”

Because what little they learn in school is taught by commie pubic school teachers that have never worked a day in their lives.

Entitlement. In addition to being indoctrinated while attending “College” they were also told that said indoctrination was earning them a valuable degree that would make them tons of moola. When the reality hit that degrees in “women’s studies” or “feminism in the dark ages” or “political science” were worthless, the “occupy Wall Street” hit the fan.

What?!?! A worthless, expensive degree is worthless?!?!?! Why?!? Hey, when in doubt, turn to your indoctrination. It must be that capitalism!!! Yeah, that is it.
