The country is split roughly 50/50 and is moving to the left for too many reasons, immigrants voting, millenials wanting socialism etc

For a red state like KY to vote democrat boggles my mind.

I do not think Pres. Trump has the reelection in the bag as many think ala HC 2016.

Democrats won 10 of the last 12 governor’s elections in Kentucky BEFORE yesterday. Bevin was actually an anomaly as a GOP governor even in a state that votes “red” on a national level.

RE: I do not think Pres. Trump has the reelection in the bag as many think ala HC 2016.

You hit the nail right on the head.

Trump is popular WITH HIS BASE. That is all we can conclude from the huge attendance at his rallies ( Kentucky included).

The fact that Congress flipped to Democrat by a wide margin in 2018, despite warnings to the American electorate that voting Democrat would result in this impeachment brouhaha we are seeing today tells me that Trump is widely unpopular with Democrats *AND* a significant percentage of independents.

We cannot let our guard down or we will find a Democrat in the White House and a repeat of 2008.

In KY they will vote for a Democrat from time to time. Beshear only beat Bevin by a narrow margin.

He’s a dead man walking come 2023.

Totally, utterly agree. I don't think they'll be able to take Trump out next year, but sometime in the next 10-20 years they are going to become an operative voting majority.

KY has only recently began to vote GOP Statewide. So, this is not a big deal. A better candidate will take back the seat in the next election. The GOP dominated the rest of the State election.
