Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar was one of just two Democrats to vote 'present' on a resolution recognizing the Armenian genocide at the hands of the Ottoman Turks a century ago.
Omar, who in the past has said the U.S. was 'founded on genocide,' voted present on a measure that passed the House Tuesday by a vote of 405 to 11. Democratic leadership called up the bill following Turkey's invasion of Syria. Sensitivity toward Turkey's strong opposition to the legislation has kept it at bay in the past.

I don’t know. I’d vote present on stupid crap like that. Why in blazes is Congress wasting any time “acknowledging” century old history that has nothing to do with America? What changes if Congress recognizes or doesn’t some event?

And 11 “Republicans” voted against it. Mike Rogers (AL), James Baird, Susan Brooks, Greg Pence, Larry Bucshan (all from IN), Andy Harris (MD), Virginia Foxx, Mark Meadows (both from NC), Tom Cole (OK), Kevin Brady and Mac Thornberry (both from TX).
It’s expected from the likes of Omar. But there’s no excuse for these so-called Republicans.
How the HECK did you know her father was Armenian?
I get it that everyone hates her, but why no outrage about the Republicans Paul Gosar and Eddie Johnson who voted the exact same way or the 11 other Republicans - including the VP’s own brother - who voted “no”?

So don’t vote for her when she’s up for re-election.
