Bolton told ex-Trump aide to call White House lawyers about Ukraine pressure campaign
The Hill ^ | 10/14/19 | Justine Coleman

Former national security adviser John Bolton told a former aide to President Trump on Russia to call White House lawyers to warn them about a pressure campaign on Ukraine, House investigators were reportedly told Monday.

Bolton told Fiona Hill, the senior director for Russian and Eurasian affairs, to contact the lawyer for the National Security Council and say that the president's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani was involved in the efforts to pressure Ukraine into investigating Democrats, the New York Times reported Monday night.

“I am not part of whatever drug deal Rudy and Mulvaney are cooking up,” Bolton told Hill to tell White House lawyers, according to the testimony reported by the Times.

The former national security adviser had called Giuliani a "hand grenade who's going to blow everybody up" in a previous conversation with Hill, according to the Times.

I try really hard not to put a politician on a pedestal. We here at FR do it easily and get our hand slapped all the time. I remember some were really mad if any bad talk was said to Bolton. And even though he’s never been elected, I still consider him a politician who lie very naturally.

Uh. Ukraine was knee deep in the Democrat/deep state hoax conspiracy. It was clearly laid out that there was going to be an investigation

Sounds as if he’s gone full tilt deep state

It's not that he wasn't savvy or has gone full tilt. He is a very driven and intelligent man, but he was also part of the deep state... Just in a wing that appealed to conservative tendencies more frequently.

Bolton has been part of the deep state dead set on pushing America into a hot war with Iran for decades. (The war in Iraq was partly about bracketing Iran)

While it's not a position without merit, war on that scale is something that should be entered into with the consent and approval of the American public. Bolton would rather wield the levers of power to draw us into war than to convince the public of the legitimacy of the argument and gain legitimate approval through legislative and electoral actions. This too is the deep state.

Breaking the deep state mindset, the mindset that important decisions should only be pondered upon and decided by experts inside the DC beltway because the rubes are too simple to understand, is utterly important to the future of the nation. If your policy argument isn't strong enough to be made in the light of day, it isn't strong. If your reaction to a policy loss is to call up a trusted media source and deliver a scathing report on background rather than being exposed to the sunlight.

Sure sounds suspicious to me why would Bolton ruin what’s left of his career with either party? Would be very disappointing if true.

Subpoena now likely to be issued to The Walrus within the next 24 hours IMHO. And, he will want to testify and cooperate with Congressional investigators considering him being rushed out the door last month and he will want pay back big time. This is how DC works. He’s the John Dean in all of this, very likely. If that happens POTUS be probably more than not going down big time and say hello to President Pence. I think it’s very possible now. Too much is already out there and it can’t be walked back. The Hill 10-hour testimony today, Yovanivich, Sondland coming up, the arrest of those two shady mafia type Ukrainians Lev and Igor, at Dulles Airport, its all there. Sheesh They must be in crisis mode at EOB and West Wing.

The problem with this article is the fact that we’ve all read the transcript and know it’s a big nothing burger.

There were a number of FReepers who got all butt-hurt about the way Trump unceremoniously fired Bolton.

Wonder what they have to say now.

Justine Coleman the author of this junk is currently promoting the soon-to-be released book by the cofounders of Fusion GPS.

No doubt it is a work of fiction, too.

I don’t believe the Democrats are swearing in any of their star witnesses in this kangaroo court.
