Hunter Biden is stepping down from the board of a Chinese-backed private equity company and promising to forego all foreign work if his father, former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, is elected president in 2020.

After months of keeping a relatively low-profile as President Donald Trump leveled a barrage of unsubstantiated accusations of corruption at him, the younger Biden is publicly vowing to avoid any conflict of interest.

According to a statement released on his behalf by his lawyer George Mesires, Biden said he’ll resign at the end of the month from the management company of a private equity fund that’s backed by Chinese state-owned entities. He also pledged that he wouldn’t work for any foreign-owned companies or serve on their boards during a potential Biden administration. He reiterated that he never discussed his business activities with his father.

“I didn’t break any laws,

Well, a true statement perhaps but he did benefit by a conflict of interest at the minimum. This is not about you Hunter, it is about your dad in particular and how business is conducted in DC in general. Nothing but a good ole boys network of family and social pocket lining.

He was going to be tossed off the board anyway the moment slo jo loses the primary.

Just like the money for the clinton crime family foundation dried up as soon as her lowless lost the election. Everyone should have learned by that failure to not pay a bribe ahead of time, wait for them to be in a position to do something for you.

How will the Chinese company (funny that it is never named) tell the difference?

We are so impressed —NOT.

Now when it became a problem for his father’s presidential bid, now he is acting, but that doesn’t make his previous actions go away.
Once a crook, always a crook.

“Hunter always understood that his father would be guided, entirely and unequivocally, by established U.S. policy, regardless of its effects on Hunter’s professional interests,”

Ah. Well, then. Perhaps this is all just one big misunderstanding. Were there rules in place during Joe Biden's vice-presidency that would have prevented Hunter from profitting from such associations? If not, then no big deal. Perhaps President Trump just assumed there were and is pointing out what he thought were illegalities.

If there were, then maybe Hunter should have informed his father of his international business dealings so-as not to jeopardize either of their freedom.

So, once again, simple question. Was it illegal or at least unethical at the time of Joe Biden's vice-presidency for Hunter Biden to profit from his father's position?

Too late.

He didn't do this when his dad was VP. Only now that he's been caught does he promise to do this.

Why did he resign? If he did nothing wrong and everything was vetted as the Democrats stated...

Plus note that he has not resigned yet..... he only stated that he would at some point in the future.....
