Five Isis militants have reportedly broken out of a prison in northern Syria following Turkish mortar strikes nearby. The detainees fled from a jail in Qamishli city, according to a spokesman in the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) as reported by the Independent.
It follows earlier reports that the SDF had stopped operations against the terror group to defend against the Turkish advances.
As more Kurdish fighters left their posts, makeshift prisons holding Islamic State fighters would become vulnerable to escapes, they warned.
Separately, women affiliated with the extremist group attacked security officers at a camp in one of the regions coming under fire.
At least 17 civilians are reported to have been killed in Turkey during the first three days of the offensive.
Several more casualties were reported in Syria and the UN estimated at least 100,000 people have been displaced.

impale them all on some flat plain a la Vlad the Impaler - worked then, would work again.
If the House of Saud goes down, some of the biggest banks in the world will have real problems. If the Federal Government thought throwing five million people out of their homes was better than letting the banks falter, how lives of "those people" who serve in the military do you think they're willing to lose to save those and/or other banks?
Strange, every time I'd said about that exact same thing my post would get disappeared. Glad to see yours still here on FR. I fully concur. This problem wouldn't exist if ISIS were terminated on the spot.
Guys give it a REST. :)
i’ve gotten so many responses for not getting in line on this ONE THING behind Orange when I support him on everything else that i’ve hired a secretary and she will be replying on this matter from now on
i got her cheap :)
This kind of news, along with heart wrenching pictures of dead or injured children, is predictable. I am tired of the media trying to manipulate me into supporting endless wars. There will always be wars somewhere. Innocent people will die. Our military needs some R&R and a restructure of the command.
Guess they shoulda killed ‘em when they had the chance then.
Especially since we saw that coming.
And so maybe next time, we’ll learn to just kill them.
Bumper time
NO PRISONERS
!
I typed it, I typed it! No village pillaging or family raping, you Turks!
If he is so right, how come so many of our troops feel ashamed. You’re all nice and safe in you homes, hailing something that the troops you say you care about are not happy with. Why are they unhappy? It is their friends and allies they have shed blood with for five years that they are now told to stand by and watch get slaughtered.
Trump does not yet realize the big mistake this is, politically.
“Cool, the Turks can round ‘em up and ship ‘em to the UK, they’ll fit right in.”
That’s not what Erdogan will do. He’ll give them weapons and head them back toward the Kurds, whom we are still there with.
I and my family and friends have all shed blood in the desert
The only thing I am ashamed of is that we have -had- a corrupt government who was continuing doing business with the wackos in the region
Trump is getting us out. Good.

Five? It's not unlikely that there are more than five of them inside our law enforcement and national security apparatus, thanks to Obama and the Clintons.
