Isis prisoners break out of Syrian jail following Turkish bombing raid
Metro UK News ^

Five Isis militants have reportedly broken out of a prison in northern Syria following Turkish mortar strikes nearby. The detainees fled from a jail in Qamishli city, according to a spokesman in the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) as reported by the Independent.
It follows earlier reports that the SDF had stopped operations against the terror group to defend against the Turkish advances.
As more Kurdish fighters left their posts, makeshift prisons holding Islamic State fighters would become vulnerable to escapes, they warned.
Separately, women affiliated with the extremist group attacked security officers at a camp in one of the regions coming under fire.
At least 17 civilians are reported to have been killed in Turkey during the first three days of the offensive.
Several more casualties were reported in Syria and the UN estimated at least 100,000 people have been displaced.

Well, we saw that coming. The Ron Paul fans and other assorted hippies, rad trads, neo-Nazis and anti-defense commies were wrong again. Oh well. There is still time for you to sign up. You can probably do it through a Soros NGO with a little digging.

The Ron Paul fans and other assorted hippies, rad trads, neo-Nazis and anti-defense commies were wrong again. You failed to include the conservatives, the constitutionalists and the Trump supporters. And calling folks who disagree with you 'nazis' is what the far left does after they lose an argument. Maybe you forgot you were posting on FR and not at DU. Try to keep it a bit more civil, please.

No, I didn’t. Nor does that change anything about your remarks in comment #2, or my reply.

I've been the subject of name calling, insults and threats many times by some who are not our countrymen or friends, and others who are ignorant about what's really happening in Syria. Read comment #14 to see a tiny bit of what's really been happening there. Follow the link and read some more. Though so few, our exceptionally courageous and experienced servicemen in Syria are doing a great job for a much greater purpose. So are our allies. I have enough respect for them to tell them that they are certainly accomplishing their purpose--a purpose that most political news hounds haven't bothered to discover.
Our men won the War in Vietnam, too. It was the un-American, counter-culture political class that lost it.
And by the way, President Trump did not pull those few men of ours out of Syria. Some of them just stopped a Turkish assault.

You failed to read comment #14. No I didn't. These are centuries old blood grudges and not worth the price of any American. We have no business there.

I am with you we have been there 20 years are we supposed to protect these Kurds through eternity, they will NEVER stop fighting each other NEVER!!! These are 3rd world hell holes and enough is enough we have had far to many soldiers that trained these BASTARDS only to have the guns turned on them and murdered by the ones they trained!!! The Saudis and Israel need to take care of this region it is their back yard !!! Unless Israel ends up in HUGE trouble with Iran we need to get out and bring our men and women home!!!!

We lost 50,000 soldiers and spent $1 trillion in today’s dollars. What do we have to show for it? What, exactly, did we win?

"There should never have been any Isis prisoners."
ISIS doesn't take prisoners. Why are we? Out-of-uniform combatants are not protected by the Geneva Convention. All should have been field executed upon capture.
It's too generous to refer to them as out-of-uniform combatants; they are barbaric murdering psychopaths.

They should be executed and getting them out of custody and into a situation where they're no longer protected is the first step.
Now that they've escaped and not “in custody” as “POWs” with their names and photos in possession of various legit and illegitimate human rights organizations they're once more fair game.

And so it starts. All those gains made against ISIS will soon be for naught.

The CIA under Brennan and Obama trained and supplied ISIS, so your point is that we should abandon our ISIS allies so they end up thrown out of all the territory they gained?
