We're in a permanent coup
Taibbi Substack ^ | 10/11/19 | Matt Taibbi

Posted on 10/11/2019 8:24:13 PM PDT by OddLane

I’ve lived through a few coups. They’re insane, random, and terrifying, like watching sports, except your political future depends on the score.

The kickoff begins when a key official decides to buck the executive. From that moment, government becomes a high-speed head-counting exercise. Who’s got the power plant, the airport, the police in the capital? How many department chiefs are answering their phones? Who’s writing tonight’s newscast?

When the KGB in 1991 tried to reassume control of the crumbling Soviet Union by placing Mikhail Gorbachev under arrest and attempting to seize Moscow, logistics ruled. Boris Yeltsin’s crew drove to the Russian White House in ordinary cars, beating KGB coup plotters who were trying to reach the seat of Russian government in armored vehicles. A key moment came when one of Yeltsin’s men, Alexander Rutskoi – who two years later would himself lead a coup against Yeltsin – prevailed upon a Major in a tank unit to defy KGB orders and turn on the “criminals.”

We have long been spared this madness in America. Our head-counting ceremony was Election Day. We did it once every four years...

SNIP—Even as shoo-in 2016 candidate Clinton underhandedly tied Trump to Russia and blamed both for the DNC server hackings,
the Obama admin cunningly downplayed Russian interference in the election so as not to taint Clinton’s widely-expected victory.

But, after Trump won, a clearly peeved Obama vindictively retaliated. In late December 2016:
<><> Obama expelled Russian diplomats,
<><> Obama closed Russian diplomatic facilities,
<><> Obama imposed sanctions on Russia’s military intelligence service (GRU)
<><> Obama sanctioned four of GRU’s senior officers.

LONG READ HERE https://www.realclearinvestigations.com/articles/2019/10/07/not_all_about_the_bidens_why_trump_has_ukraine_on_the_brain_120635.html

The retaliation by Obama seems to be an attempt to bury all traces of evidence with savage presidential power.

The Trump apparat needs to explore this information.

Taibbi was never any fan of Trump, but he states quite clearly — numerous times— he’s frightened by the coup being enacted against a legitimately elected POTUS.

He calls out the “shadow government” of “spooks” currently attempting to overthrow our electoral system.

He’s saying the spooks are setting a new precedent in the US which is common in 3rd world countries— election by coup.

He says clearly a “bad president” —Taibbi’s opinion of Trump— is preferable to rule by the “shadow government” with the complicity of media “dolts like Jim Acosta.”

I didn’t know lefties like this existed anymore. His view of Trump is completely distorted but the article was otherwise brilliant.

Also Aaron Mate(accented e) and Michael Tracey who are Trump haters who have seen and reported the big picture. These guys have paid a price for being unwilling to go along with the hoaxes from the beginning.

Just go home for about 10 days, the truckers, railroad engineers, the people who keep the water flowing and the electricity going.

Some would interpret that as a General Strike. It would starve the beast, reduce economic activity and diminish taxes generated. How would the Democrats and their dependents react?

obamaumao was/IS one of them— works for them, schemes with them....the globalist elite New World Order cabal.

Visitng his queer boyfriend in Pakistan— documented. And also meeting with is Russian controller (somebody there)— not all speculation.

Combine this with Dinesh D’Souza’s conceptualization that the democrat party big wigs— hitlery and obama— are two different criminal gangs vying for control. do anything for money and control.

I just put on a Haz-Mat suit and went over to the DUmmy website. Those people are delusional over there. They believe the coup criminals and media enablers. They believe that Trump is the most criminal person to ever walk the face of the earth and that Obastard and the she-devil Hillary are pure as the driven snow and are patriots who love this country. After reading their stupidity, I am convinced that we are an irreparably divided country headed toward a hot CW. Those people have zero discernment.

My discomfort in the last few years, first with Russiagate and now with Ukrainegate and impeachment, stems from the belief that the people pushing hardest for Trump’s early removal are more dangerous than Trump.

All my life I have watched as all the compromises have only been on the Republican side and all that ever changed each election was the speed in which America approached socialism. We finally have a President pushing towards genuine liberty and the left has only increased it's resistance with each victory. This point of the standoff was inevitable, the only question remaining is if America has become too corrupted to complete the turn or not.

it’s not in the same ballpark as CNN...

Let's not forget that it was CNN's Eason Jordan who admitted to the New York Times that he conspired with Saddam Hussein to cover up unfavorable news about the Iraqi regime in order to keep his Baghdad bureau open.

...President Trump needs to assume full plenary power, Suspend Congress, ban & outlaw the Democrat Party...

Rather than suffer through the bloody civil war you'd get with this the founders already put the solution into the Constitution. It's called Article V and its about time people stop worrying about it because the alternative, what you suggested, is much worse.

With respect, what sort of results would you wish for from an Article V Convention? Should it be explicitly permissible for States to secede? Should the USA be formally partitioned? Should there be multiple competing intelligence bureaus with overlapping domains of responsibility so that the power of one would be diminished? What would be helpful that could come out of an Article V Convention?

One thing I have extra to add to the arguments made on the COS website. It's greatest result I think happens after the convention . Once it happens and whatever amendments are proposed are debated by the states it will dominate the news like nothing else could. Americans from every corner will debate and engage with their state reps like they never have before. People will become accustomed to debating why we have a Constitution and just what it should or should not do. If I have any worries at all it is that some good amendments won't get the 3/4s needed to be ratified.

They have no idea how vulnerable the cities they live in are. Power lines, water utilities, Interstate Circumferentials, etc. all could be shut down in minutes.
