A woman who was thought to be a supporter of left-wing Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez an urged people to “eat babies” to save the planet from a supposed environmental meltdown now appears to be someone trolling AOC.
As the Daily Caller reports, a fringe political group is taking credit for the disturbance and subsequent national attention the woman created:
LaRouche PAC, a fringe political action committee, took credit for the stunt Thursday evening on Twitter and noted the congresswoman didn’t “rule out eating babies.”
The group responded to multiple tweets on the incident, writing “it was us” repeatedly, The Washington Post reported. The group’s stunt is “a fairly well-established tactic” for it, Matthew Sweet, a historian who has documented the group, said according to WaPo.
“They’ve been doing this since the ’70s,” Sweet told WaPo. “The tactic is you go to a political meeting and you create a disturbance that disrupts the meeting, and more importantly, that creates a kind of chaos.”
The group’s tweet hinted at Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest Proposal,” a 1729 satire essay where he suggested that the Irish should eat their own babies to combat a famine.
One point many respondents on Twitter have made about the incident is that AOL never condemned the idea. The video clearly shows she used the woman’s fake rant to segue back to a discussion of why leftist environmentalism is so important. But AOC never condemned eating babies as obviously a disgusting and insane idea.
The incident is a good reminder that some legitimate liberals say they won’t have kids or support abortions because of so-called climate change.

To be fair, she did not endorse the idea either. Looking at the video, I thought AOC did not know how to respond.
To be fair to Cortez (not that she deserves it), it seems that she thought the lady was crazy and was trying to ignore her. I don’t expect her to condemn every crazy thing said by her apparent supporters, any more than I expect Trump to do so.
To be fair (even though I don’t like to be fair sometimes), AOC was caught completely off guard and even suggested that they were dealing with an emotionally disturbed person. LOL.

I agree. I hate Cortez with a passion but that cam out of left field and even a normal person would have been flummoxed for a moment.
When you get down to it though, is eating a baby worse than dismembering it alive in its mother's womb and selling the parts for cash? No it is not. The Democratic Party is evil.

Nearly all adult human beings, including convicts in prisons, would know how to respond. Her failure is damning.

That this woman is ‘Totally Repulsive Obnoxious Lying Liberal’ is not the problem. The problem was that AOC never said anything to contradict her. Thus proving that AOC, the ‘Stupid Lying Ugly Tramp’ and is also ‘Brazenly Ignorant Tramp Culling Hatred’ agreed with her!!! BTW - After what she said. I’d need a case of beer.
