During WW II, the train systems of occupied countries were critical in carrying out the Nazi’s “Final Solution" regarding the Jews. The Dutch railroad system, Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS), deported 107,000 Jews during the Nazi occupation, of whom 5,100 survived. A new Dutch book on the railroad in wartime states that 112 Dutch trains deported Jews from the main transit camp Westerbork, originally a prewar refugee camp, in the northeast Netherlands, to Nazi camps between June 1942 and August 1944. As in France, the railroad was paid a small amount by the Nazis for the transport to the German border where the Dutch crew was replaced by a German one. The trains, as Adolf Eichmann remarked, ran “smoothly,” and there was no sabotage revealed, if any was attempted.
The railroads got payment for each person carried on its cattle cars to their death.
In 1940 about 140,000 Jews, seemingly well integrated, lived in the Netherlands, including 75,000 in Amsterdam. The Netherlands had the largest proportion of its Jewish population, 76%, exterminated by the Nazis than any other Western European country. Less than 25% of Jews survived. One of those who died was Anne Frank who was deported first to Auschwitz and then to Bergen-Belsen, where she died from typhus on March 1, 1945.

Those who committed the crimes have been pretty effectively identified.That's also true of at least some of the brave and decent ones.
France gets a bad rap, but the fact is 75% of French Jewish Citizens survived the war, the highest percentage of any occupied country.
It was however, the non-Citizen Jews on French soil that the Vichy government was more than happy to allow the Nazis to take off of their hands.

Arthur Seyss-Inquart was a Jew-hating fiend. Not only did he aggressively deport Jews, after the Allies occupied part of the Netherlands in 1944 and it became clear the Dutch hated the Nazis and wanted the Allies to take the country he adopted a policy of deliberately starving the population. The result was the Hongerwinter or Hunger Winter.
He's the same one who made the Anschluss possible in 1938. The Austrian Nazis were even worse than the German ones.
Interesting little tidbit...
Audrey Hepburn spent her childhood in the Netherlands during the famine and despite her later wealth she had lifelong negative medical repercussions. She suffered from anemia, respiratory illnesses, and edema as a result.
German Jews were less than 1% of the German population in the 1930s, and maybe 2% if everyone with any Jewish ancestor was counted. Most of Germany’s Jews left the country by 1939.
Nazi Jew-killing had to be international; they were never just worried about Jewish influence in Germany.
Jews were still in Berlin, as late as 1943, they were some of the last to be deported to the Death Camps.

Don’t know where you get that. The Poles have been victims for most of European history. Gotta admire them for persevering. Anybody who even remotely blames the Poles for the Holocaust is a fool.
No Jews were deported from Denmark. How did they manage that?

It may not have been official policy of any legitimate Polish Government, but half of all Jews murdered during the period were in Poland.

The right way to say it is that 90% of Danish Jews survived the Nazi conquest of Denmark. Some Jews were in fact deported. Those who were not deported usually escaped by boat to Sweden.
Why did such a high percentage survive?

2) The relative small number of Jews in Denmark meant they were somewhat overlooked for 3 years.
3) When the Danes discovered that their Jews were going to be deported they rallied and found ways to help them escape by boat to Sweden or to hide them on country farms. This was not really possible in Holland.
