As Democrats continue to call on President Trump to put forward sweeping gun control legislation, the commander in chief said his administration will do nothing to hurt the Second Amendment, during an exclusive interview Thursday with Fox News' Ed Henry at the southern border.
Henry asked Trump if he would "stand up" to the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the president said he would, so long as constitutional gun rights are not infringed upon.
"I am [going to stand up to the NRA] if it's not going to hurt a good, solid great American citizen from keeping his weapon because they want that," he said.
"And they are entitled to that. We have a Second Amendment," Trump continued. "I don't want to have crazy people have guns. I don't want to have bad people have guns. But, we're going to do nothing to hurt the Second Amendment. And what we want to do is see if we can come up with a compromise, and that's what we're working on."

I highly doubt he’s going to do anything, if he says he will it’s just to shut up the Treasonists.
The Second Amendment is already violated by every single "gun control" law on the books.
Mr. President: Which gun control laws do you propose to REPEAL?
Gun reform Legislation:
1.Concealed carry reciprocity.
2. A federal law prohibiting no gun zones
3. Require every hs student to take a gun safety course
Anything that the Brown Shirt Media can claim is “standing up to the NRA” will be a victory for them. They will wave his scalp around with glee.

That would require repealing the “Any Other Weapon” designation in the NFA …

Because we will gladly turn the country over to the people promoting gun confiscation and socialism out in the open because we are that damn stupid.
Because if we threaten them, they tell us to go F off and do it anyway, and that doesn’t feel as good as teaching you a lesson by putting guns in our mouths and stomping on the trigger.
We ALL stand up to the NRA, we want them to be a strong defender of the 2nd and right now their leadership is a mess. So I stand up to them and demand they get their ducks in a row and stop the infighting and become effective again.

I would like to ask Mr. Henry things like:
How much would a system that he and his media friends are asking for (as part of “standing up to the NRA”) cost?
How will it reduce the criminal and tragic misuse of firearms? Is there clear and demonstrable proof that this sort of thing has accomplished such results and that ones like John Lott and Gary Kleck would be in agreement?
Do frontline police officers and sheriff’s deputies support this and related initiatives because they too agree that this is a cost effective way to eliminate mass incidents and other instances of criminal misuse of firearms?
Supposedly half the Households in the USA possess Firearms.
Why has NRA Membership only hovered around 5 Million People, especially with a Political Party blatantly bent on destroying our God Given Second Amendment Rights?
Other Gun Rights Organizations also have limited Membership.
It’s nonsensical.
Gun control laws are not supposed to work. They is merely stepping stones to impose another gun law, then another, till guns are made totally illegal.
Nothing is going to be passed.
How about border control?
Here is a simple suggestion. Any violation of any aspect of the gun laws, like lying on a form or possession by a felon, be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law with no bargaining. How many false filings of purchase forms, false statements, are allowed to just go away or how many felons in possession of firearms are prosecuted on a reduced charge? Get the criminals off the streets, put them in jail and most all of the crimes committed with firearms go away IMO.
Frankly, I am tired of waking up each day to the body count either in Chicago or Jacksonville, near me, from bums who should be in jail or already electrocuted. It never ends. When or if they catch up with the bum he has a rap sheet that is a mile long with previous gun charges washed away or melded into some some watered down sentencing. I don’t want these a holes messing with my rights. They are when they are allowed to just roam around unmolested because some liberal judge thinks they can be redeemed. Let them be redeemed in the next life.
As far as chicago goes, apparently they have many gun violations. Why is not the US Attorney there prosecuting them on the federal charge coincident with the state charge?? No one is going to tell me they don’t want to do double jeopardy BECAUSE there is none. Lock them up with a follow on sentencing. Give the ATF something useful to do besides sending guns to Mexico.

We want to elect someone who supports our 2nd Amendment rights. But we don't depend on any officeholder to protect our 2A rights for us - the whole point of 2A is that it's how WE defend our rights when officeholders fail us. If no major party candidate supports 2A, we cast a protest vote and check that our powder's dry.
