'Wait her out and Jew her down'
Arutz Sheva ^ | 18/9/19 | Marcy Oster

The president of the City Council in Trenton, New Jersey, allegedly used the term “Jew her down” during a closed-door meeting to describe the settlement at a lower rate of a personal injury lawsuit.

Kathy McBride allegedly said during a Sept. 5 executive session that a city attorney was “able to wait her out and Jew her down” to the lower amount. The city attorney to whom she was referring is Jewish, The Trentonian reported.

City Councilwoman Robin Vaughn defended McBride, saying the term to Jew someone down “is a verb,” The Trentonian reported.

“I believe her comment ‘Jew down’ was more in reference to negotiating, not ‘I hate Jews,’” Vaughn wrote in comments on Facebook, according to the newspaper. “Inappropriate in today’s PC culture absolutely, but to Jew someone down is a verb and is not-anti-anything or indicative of hating Jewish people.”

Councilman George Muschal told the website New Jersey Globe that he thinks the term is “just a statement of speech.”

Reed Gusciora, the mayor of New Jersey’s capital city, in an email obtained by The Trentonian called the use of the term “offensive,” adding “I hope that after some reflection you would apologize for these remarks.”

Apologize?! You think after all the people who apologized, but whose careers were ruined for some supposedly offensive remark and apology be damned, you get a do-over? Hell, no! McBride has to resign, just like Trent Lott did. Just like Roseanne lost control of her hit show. Just like George Allen's apology wasn't accepted for saying "macaca". She can take her putative apology, and Robin Vaughn and George Muschel's "explanation"-s and stick it up Ilhan Omar's a$$. No prisoners.

“I believe her comment ‘Jew down’ was more in reference to negotiating...

Boy if I had a dime for every time I used the phrase “Jew down”...I wouldn’t have a dime :)

I’m sure it’s offensive but I’ve never heard it before and not quite sure what it means.

But the important thing here is that it’s getting more easy and more common to insult Jews again and get away with it in 2019 thanks to Omar et. al. /s

2 percent of the population and people can’t just leave em be.

Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. It’s not like she said “nigger rich” or “Pollack”. It’s a verb, after all, just like “nigger” is a noun or in the above case an adjective. How could that be offensive. No, she just praised her town’s counsel for Jew-ing a plaintiff down until she was only nigger rich. Perfectly normal speech. How could anyone be offended. No pleasing those people.

Note: Just a cotton pickin’ minit posts are so obviously over-the-top that no sarc tab is needed.

I used it before. In a comment to a Jew. I immediately realized my mistake and apologized. That was in approximately 1973. I’ve never used it as a verb since. In fact, I’m not sure I’ve been said the word since in any context.

After all these years, I’m still embarrassed by it.

LOL

I HATE when I have to use an /s at the end of something OBVIOUS because someone might not get it and then attack me.

The first sentence in your post wasn’t necessary to know it was sarcasm. And funny

You mean, they didn’t have to write it up in a newspaper and have protests outside your house? Your family wasn’t even chased out of a restaurant? He just accepted your apology without ruining your life? Boy, that Jew was such a rube./s

come on man, you shouldn’t have to be embarrassed by one comment a million years ago.

I wouldn’t be able to show my face for ANY race, creed or color if that was the standard :)

That it still matters to you DOES, however, show that you are a good man and that’s a rare commodity these days.

ciao

I knew someone who used that phrase as “chew her down”. He seemed surprised when I explained what he was really saying and that some might find it offensive.

I heard it a lot when I was a kid, not from my parents who never talked like that, but from somewhere....

just like you would say somebody "gyped" you...

but there are SOOOO many words used to describe white country people....hayseed,red neck, cracker, ship kicker, boot licker, etc and Poles get dissed all the time, as well as fat people...

it just depends on who's feelings are being hurt and apparently a non jew white person can be insulted all the time without a blink of the eye...

She knew what she was saying. Let her pay the price. Remember, it’s New Jersey so anything goes there.

I don’t ever use the /s and I use the satire often enough. I really do not care about the dullards who cannot understand satire. 99% of them are liberals or leftists none of which can possibly understand anything the least bit complicatied. There are a tiny few of them on our side of things but they will always stay two steps behind and I don’t see them as relevant to anything.

On a related note, I'm surprised that Pelosi, or the Cuomo Bros. Andrew and Fredo haven't yet chided Herman Cain for his associaton with GODFATHER'S Pizza, since that name could evoke negative Italian stereotypes.

How about if we all go to work and use the term ‘jew down’ three times a day for the next three weeks??

In 1993 a coworker of mine used this expression to a customer. He was fired. Location was Southern California. The customer was Jewish.

If the person who said this is a democrat they'll spin it as a compliment to Jews for being shrewd business 'persons' and the whole thing will just go away.

A Jewish friend of mine used that expression as a source of pride in his ability to garner a good deal.

But considering the way Democrats use such faux pas as bludgeons against their enemies, this putz deserves the public skewering.

He made a request on Fredo’s daughter’s wedding that he be given a pass. And since he dutifully kissed his ring, Godfather’s Pizza is ok. It has to be so. Why would they have it in both a movie and a Simpsons episode if it wasn’t so.
