Apologize?! You think after all the people who apologized, but whose careers were ruined for some supposedly offensive remark and apology be damned, you get a do-over? Hell, no! McBride has to resign, just like Trent Lott did. Just like Roseanne lost control of her hit show. Just like George Allen's apology wasn't accepted for saying "macaca". When my father died some years ago, my family was sitting shivah when a neighbor of my mother’s stopped by to pay her respects. The conversation turned to her daughter trying to buy a house and she mentioned that her daughter was trying to “Jew the seller down”. She looked up and saw our expressions and said “Oh I guess I shouldn’t have said that.” Of all places to use that term.

I had business partners who were Israelis once...there is no doubt they were very good at whittling a deal down

My sisters first grade teacher calls my mom and asks, “ Mrs. Smith, I'm a little confused. I thought your family was Catholic but your daughter tells me different. She said you are Jewish.”

So my mom asks my sister why she would say such a thing and my sister says, “Well, I always hear you telling people how dad is always trying to Jew people down on prices”.
