I used it before. In a comment to a Jew. I immediately realized my mistake and apologized. That was in approximately 1973. I’ve never used it as a verb since. In fact, I’m not sure I’ve been said the word since in any context.
After all these years, I’m still embarrassed by it.
You mean, they didn’t have to write it up in a newspaper and have protests outside your house? Your family wasn’t even chased out of a restaurant? He just accepted your apology without ruining your life? Boy, that Jew was such a rube./s
come on man, you shouldn’t have to be embarrassed by one comment a million years ago.
I wouldn’t be able to show my face for ANY race, creed or color if that was the standard :)
That it still matters to you DOES, however, show that you are a good man and that’s a rare commodity these days.
ciao
just like you would say somebody "gyped" you...
but there are SOOOO many words used to describe white country people....hayseed,red neck, cracker, ship kicker, boot licker, etc and Poles get dissed all the time, as well as fat people...
it just depends on who's feelings are being hurt and apparently a non jew white person can be insulted all the time without a blink of the eye...
I am of Jewish ethnic background and if you said it to me I would _not_ be offended—I would actually start laughing at you if you blushed or started to apologize.
Real people need to get thicker skins!
What I have zero tolerance for is _any_ form of political correctness or censorship.
