I think it comes from Christian sensibilities.

Far from being aggressive like the Left likes to imply, Christians are commanded to turn the other cheek, give him your shirt as well as your cloak, and to be humble, meek and mild.

And we lose and things get worse. We just feed the enemy this way.

Time to sell your cloak and buy a sword, GOP!

That’s Scripture, too.

I remember from 2018 Rush dismissing the problems so many Republicans retiring would cause. Rush was very dismissive of the possibility of a “blue wave”. He seems to always believe that no one would really vote for a democrat, and is very surprised when the democrats do well.

The GOP has no core ideology. Other than open borders and unfair trade, of course. Those retiring GOPers just don’t see anything worth fighting for.

The last caller nailed it. Bunch of pansies who cannot stomach the fight.

Oh, the GOP fight. Just not for what GOP voters want. Look how hard the GOP fought to keep Obamacare the law of the land. Look how hard they fought Trump’s MAGA nominees for Fed and DNI.

I think one of the reasons we lost the House in 2018 is that there were a huge number of Republicans who retired.

THAT AND the fact that EVERY political race that was 'too close too call' went 100% to democrats... a statistical improbability...

Hint: with voter fraud ONLY races that are 'too close to call' have ballots boxes stuffed. Stuffing boxes on other races would draw too much attention...or would in the past. With today's corrupt press it's probably safe to stuff all the boxes on every race. "Journalists" will cover for the crooks on their side.

Their dirt is like perfume to democrat voters and the media won’t cover it or will twist it around anyway.

If a serving Potus having sex in the Oval office during work hours with a young intern and lies about it to the American people does not bother one Democrat, nothing will.

Did you see what the next potential crime they are investigating now on Trump? His payments to Stormy Daniels and the model. Yep they are going to bring in the girls to testify about what Trump did 10 years ago with them as a private citizen. Super, super important for our country to know about and have hearings on.

Even if these retiring republicans are in save seats there retirements will still take resources and staff time away from other more competitive races. The GOP knows this of course.

Why Are So Many House Republicans Retiring?

Because the Republican Party is dying.

Have you seen the Trump rallies? None of those people look like they’re going to turn the other cheek. Your argument makes no sense.

That makes sense. But we shouldn’t allow ourselves to be plowed over. I believe that turn the other cheek is for the first or maybe the second instance. However, when it becomes repetitive and unending, then we have to defend ourselves and our family and friends.

Addition by subtraction.

Depends on who replaces them.

Dude, you make no sense, as this post is about the REPUBLICANS in the Congress, NOT Trump or his supporters.

The GOPe, RINOs, those leaving—quiting.

Jeesh, get a freaking clue, man.

Who amongst us are right all the time?

I can say this for Rush, though...

He’s right most of the time. And I don’t recollect what you recollect, as he was very adamant about what would happen if we didn’t get out the vote; or if the democrats won.

In fact, I remember Rush going on week after week about how the democrats, if in charge, would spend ALL of their time investigating Trump.

And that’s exactly what happened.

Now, Rush is indeed waving the flag about these retirements and trying to perhaps stem them, although there’s already been too many.

Maybe he learned something from 2018, I can only hope.

But he still has the single biggest audience in all of Conservative media, and we should well listen to him, and promote him, and yes, even challenge him from time to time.

I think the Florida fight Representative DeSantis and Governor Scott put up is our model to counter their vote fraud.

We need to be especially ready for this.

We can find natural Republicans/Conservatives who might not vote and be there for them November 3rd. Call them on the 2nd reminding them to vote; offer a ride, any help we can be. If they’re not going to vote, harvest their ballots for them.

Trump punches back, the GOP is still playing by Marquis of Queensbury rules and getting their butts kicked. They must adapt or die as a party. Right now they make the 1940 French Army look heroic!

These are classic Alinsky tactics being used against us. "Make the other side play by their own rules" for example.

Until Trump, the Republicans more or less complied. They consistently took the high road and chose to lose with dignity (for example, Romney, McCain, Dole, etc.) rather than get down in the dirt with their scrappy opponents.

The very attributes that many Republicans criticize Trump over are reasons that Trump won the presidency - against an opponent that was all but crowned Queen.

Trump thinks outside the box. The box that the Republicans have created for themselves.

It is too bad that Trump has to fight this way but it is necessary (IMHO). I am shocked that Democrats claim that civility suddenly ended with Trump. This claim is completely false and yet another lie — the Democrats have been piling on unhindered for 30 plus years. They have had it easy with the MSM in their hip pockets.

With Trump, we have finally have someone who says ENOUGH and then hits back hard when attacked!
