Nunes files $9.9M suit against firm behind Steele dossier, saying it tried to obstruct Russia probe

Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., filed a $9.9 million federal conspiracy lawsuit on Wednesday alleging that the opposition research firm behind the anti-Trump Steele dossier coordinated with another group to file several fraudulent and harassing ethics complaints intended to derail his investigation.

The complaint in the Eastern District of Virginia, which named Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson and the nonprofit Campaign for Accountability (CfA), said the "smear" tactics kicked into action shortly after Simpson "lied" in his closed-door testimony before the House Intelligence Committee in November 2017, as well as before the Senate Judiciary Committee in August 2017.

Fusion GPS and CfA's "racketeering activities," Nunes alleged, were "part of a joint and systematic effort to intimidate, harass, threaten, influence, interfere with, impede, and ultimately to derail" Republican investigators.

I don’t think Cfa will comply with requests for discovery.

I think those behind Cfa will forfeit the case rather than have everything exposed.

Tried to obstruct the probe? Try this on for contents of the complaint ...

Fusion GPS and Simpson, together with Orbis and Steele, corruptly created and supplied a fraudulent document - the "Steele Dossier" - and made false statements to the FBI, DOJ, State Department, and to Congress for the express purpose of influencing the outcome of the 2016 U.S. Presidential election and, thereafter, to topple a sitting President.

Not sure how far this lawsuit will proceed, but it makes most serious allegations.

And, if it only costs 10 million bucks to throw an election, well, that's pretty cheap. I bet the government actors got paid more than that.

Why $9.9 million instead of a round number like $10 million?

They are covering everything up Ann. Barr may charge McCabe or a few thugs (perhaps even Comey with SOMETHING), but the Deep State is covering for the Deep State.

Republicans in the Senate would not allow Congressmen John Ratcliffe to be the Director of National Intelligence. The Senate Republican freaked out. Why? Because they too are guilty of crimes.

The Dept of Injustice is corrupt.

The Federal Bureau of Injustice is corrupt.

90% of Congress is corrupt.

The courts are corrupt.

All Barr does is promise more "investigations." All the "investigations" ever do is take forever, and in the end, bury everything.

There will be no mass arrests. There will be no mass convictions of the coup plotters. There will be no mass military trials at GITMO.

Money quote of the Nunes complaint: Fusion GPS and Simpson, together with Orbis and Steele, corruptly created and supplied a fraudulent document - the "Steele Dossier" - and made false statements to the FBI, DOJ, State Dept, and to Congress for the express purpose of influencing the outcome of the 2016 U.S. Presidential election and, thereafter, to topple a sitting President.

Nancy Pelosi actually described the "smear technique" in a press conference.
Apparently destroying people is no big deal to a Democrat, as long as it gets them back in power.

=================================================

In 2017, at a press conference, Pelosi blithely revealed the tried-and-true Democrat demonization tactic called the “wrap-up smear.”

PELOSI: “We Democrats call it the ‘wrap-up smear.’ You smear somebody, with falsehoods and all the rest,
and then you merchandise it to the media,” Pelosi said matter-of factly, as if she were giving out a recipe for apple pie.

SOUND FAMILIAR? This patented Democrat criminal MO was used against Justice Kavanaugh.

Hillary is extremely good at this——in 2016 she’d “leak” what she said was damaging info on Trump to the media.

Then when the smear was published-—she’d wave around the clipping to show how she was the superior candidate.

God Bless Devin Nunes, don’t know where we’d be without him.

And I wish him the very best with this lawsuit. But this is not necessarily a good turn of events, unfortunately. Especially after watching his interview on Hannity last night.

He basically admitted this lawsuit is born out of his frustration with the Department of Justice, and lack of faith they are ever going to get to the bottom of the crimes committed. Along those lines, he specifically mentioned it has been a full year and a half since his committee referred McCabe for prosecution.

He even said it may take more of these civil lawsuits by others, and called on others to now act in a similar manner. Time will tell if there are civil courts interested in even hearing these cases, but the takeaway was clearly that times are getting desperate, and these are desperate measures indeed.

It’s triple 3.3 million. Nunes is claiming 3.3 million in compensatory damages, those being time and money to defend ethics complaints, business losses, and damage to reputation. Nunes does ot itemize how he arrived at 3.3 million. That would be part of the trial.
