She knows that Republicans alone won't get her another term. And that voting for Kavanaugh cost her a lot of support in Maine and elsewhere, i.e. where the money comes from. She's may well think twice before voting for a Trump nominee in an election year. Same with Bennett in Colorado and McSally in Arizona.
When is Ginsburg time up for crying out loud. She needs propping up and surely is not fit to do the job.
I might also add there’s a lot of negativity — verging on defeatism — on this thread. You people need to get a grip on your emotions.
Driving the Dems to over-the-top Kavanaugh levels of insane in the midst of a POTUS campaign can only be good for our side.
The ‘Notorious’ Granddaughter?
Two of those three are up for re-election next year. They're going to get their asses handed to them -- maybe even in a GOP primary -- if they don't toe the party line on a Supreme Court nomination.
“If Ginsburg or anyone else retires in 2020, the Democrats will howl about the rule that you dont fill a Supreme Court seat in a presidential election year.”
LOL, even if the Garland nomination was allowed to go to the floor for a vote in 2016, Democrats act like it was guaranteed he would’ve been confirmed. In all likelihood he would’ve been voted down, the clock would’ve expired for 2016 and the seat would’ve been filled in the next term after Trump had taken office.
Republicans were in control, yet Democrats act like it was the Republicans obligation to rubber stamp the Garland nomination without question.
In fact, I'd celebrate with a bottle of " Armand de Brignac Brut Gold Champagne NV 15L Rated 94W&S" which costs a meager $15,999.95" {as soon as I hit the lotto}.
Your daughter is married and pregnant and you are just now finding out that she is a big lib fan of RBG?
You have a communications problem with your off spring.
That has already been done. There is a lot to criticize the pubbies about, but confirming Trumps judicial picks are not one of them.
In fact, it is the only high point of the Senate during this term.
Oh no. I knew she was liberal. Just not THAT liberal. She’s in
Seattle, after all. She’s the only one that still lives there. The other two left. One to Phoenix and one, just last year, to Kentucky. :)
You are wrong.
There is no ' Rule ' but the accommodation only applied when there were two different parties in the White House and control of the Senate.
When they are both the same, this ' Rule ' would have been, and is, insanity, and the demonRATS NEVER followed it.
So screw your justification of demonRAT howling.
Double standards cut both ways. Payback is a b!tch. Suck it up, buttercup.
And Lindsey Graham needs to stop allowing DemocRATS to stop Trumps District Court Judge nominees by using the Blue Slip process.

The lack of understanding on this is astounding. The Blue Slip process was removed (by Lindsey Grahams predecessor, NOT by Graham) for Appeals Court Judges, NOT FOR DISTRICT COURT JUDGES. It still exists for District Court federal judges. There are MORE VACANCIES in the federal judiciary NOW than there were at the time President Trump took office!
There was no "rule" and no "accommodation" either. Just an excuse used by whatever party controlled the Senate to try and not look bad when they denied a president of the opposite party a nomination. Well McConnell quoted the Biden "rule" when he refused to hold hearings on Garland and don't think the Democrats won't hammer him with it if he tries and fill a seat next year.
When they are both the same, this ' Rule ' would have been, and is, insanity, and the demonRATS NEVER followed it.
There is no rule. There is no accommodation. There is only an excuse. An excuse both parties would use should the opportunity arise.
So screw your sanctimonious justifications, too.
My dearly departed mother was a demonRAT county official, in fact, she voted twice after she died.
It took me two trips to the polls and the country court house to get my dead mother's name removed from the voting rolls.
Didn’t Collins give an impassioned speech explaining WHY she voted for Kavanaugh? Don’t know where ou got that “barely voted for Kavanaugh” nonsense.
Without a second amendment, it is irrelevant. The administration’s gun control law is working thru congress.
I wouldn't be high fiving anytime soon. I'd NEVER trust the turtle.
It is almost midnight.
