Ohio Democrats file federal lawsuit to halt new voter purge
Columbus Dispatch ^ | 09 03 2019 | Catherine Candisky

Ohio Democrats filed a lawsuit Friday attempting to stop Secretary of State Frank LaRose’s plan to remove more than 200,000 voters from registration rolls next week for sitting out too many elections.

State Democratic Chairman David Pepper said that after recent revelations showing “thousands of errors in voters purged ... it makes no sense for the secretary of state to push forward with the purge.”

The 17-page complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Columbus seeks a restraining order blocking the Sept. 6 purge and asks that LaRose be ordered to conduct “a manual review of the voting history of each voter at risk of being purged.”

OMG, the next thing will be ordering cemetery gates to be opened on voting months (it does take some time to shamble, you know!)

Here in GA you must re-register if you miss two consecutive elections. I don’t know how stringent they are in enforcing it, but I have no problem here. It is easy to register...almost too easy. I would be for putting a 10 year expiration on all voter rolls.

The problem registrations are the illegitimate ones that HAVE been voting.

They should purge all registrations and make everyone re-register.

They should do that every 10 years in all states

Six years after I moved out of Ohio I got a card from the county registrar asking me if I wanted to renew my voters’ registration.

Always wondered who was voting for me those six years.

6 months after I left MN, I got a notice I had been removed from MN voting list.
As it should be.

Why stop at 10 years? Why not every 4? If I have to renew my CCW every 5 and DL every 4/5 then why shouldn’t everyone re-register to vote at the same time?

The communists Democrats will not allow purge and will succeed in stopping before 2020. The Country is under the power play of the communists Federal and State judges.

Exactly. It’s very telling as to what kind of “representation” we have.

“6 months after I left MN, I got a notice I had been removed from MN voting list.

You were removed ASAP because you had voted in a Republican primary some time in the past.

Demonrats keep a list of Rep primary voters, they won’t know who you voted for, but know you voted.

All the states do it, Republicans do it too.

If you had been a MN demonrat you would be on the roles 20 years after you move.

We left California 10 years ago and have never received a notice that our names have been removed from the voter list. How can we check?
