There is a very pernicious theocracy highly active and virulent in the world today. It’s called communism. It’s anti-Jewish, anti-Christian, anti-Buddhist, anti-Muslim and anti-Hindu, and directly in conflict with most of the seven Noahide laws. You’d think the end of the cold war would have put paid to these theocrats. But it hasn’t.

Yeah, that might have been a mistake. I did add that in the later response...

It seems like a lot of those talmudic discussions are about a time in the future....

What are the lies?

Can you point out three lies of either political or thelogical nature?

I would love to hear it. Because, getting to know about this noahide stuff really... Shocked me a bit.

That is why I posted it here.

I want to be reassured.

You know.

You were one of the persons I had in mind when I posted this thread...

“It wasn’t a “democracy.” It wasn’t a “republic.” It was a Theocracy. You object to that I suppose?”

I am partial to the American republic, but I suppose no system is forever. They are man made afterall. Even “theocracies”.

“From your screen name I assume you are one of those people to whom J*sus is a European ethnic totem. What do you do about the fact that this same J*sus is also the ethnic totem of Blacks, Hispanics, Ethiopians, and Dravidians? Or perhaps they’re all different J*suses. One for everybody.”

To me, Jesus is God and no ethnic totem. I am saami anyhow and I have never seen a saami Jesus :)

Jesus is love, truth and God.

“As for beheading chrstians, the world is not going to remain secular forever. Eventually the True Religion, whichever it is, will be vindicated and acknowledged by all. When this happens all will practice this One True Religion. To complain about Mashiach HaMelekh “beheading chrstians” is a bit like those liberal Jews complaining about Jews converting to chrstianity at the “second coming.””

So you support the beheadings... ?

I reserve the right to complain about the beheading of Christians or anyone else for that matter.

As for which Christianity?

There are many sects.. Like there is in jewdaism too like chabad etc.

For me?

I believe this:

What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor: that is the whole Torah while the rest is commentary; go and learn it.

Best regards,

Euro.

“What are the lies? Can you point out three lies of either political or thelogical nature?”

Sure.

Lie 1.

First sentence of article:

“But the Noahides are a theological phenomenon of very recent vintage.”

Um, no. It’s very old It started with Noah. What do you think the Courtyard of the Gentiles was for at the Temple.

Lie 2, second sentence:

“It’s a form of Zionist mission”

No, the laws of Noah have nothing to do with the modern state of Israel.

Lie 3, second sentence, second part:

” which seeks to create a world religion whose believers adore the Jewish people and the State of Israel – without belonging to either.”

The laws of Noah just apply to all people. All repeats the lie that this has something to do with the modern state of Israel.

Lie 4, third sentence:

“The believers are required to accept the supremacy of Judaism but are not accepted into the Jewish people”

No, although I suppose they must agree that Jewish people should practice Judaism, although that is technically not even required.

Lie 5:

” and are even barred from upholding such commandments as Sabbath observance.”

Nothing would stop them from following all 613 Mitzvah, if they so chose. They just aren’t required to do so. They could even convert, if they wanted to.

Lie 6.

“Anyone who wishes to be a Noahide is called upon mainly to recognize the Jewish people and its state.”

Same lie repeated. Has nothing to do with Israel.

Etc. Basically every sentence is chock full of absolute poop.

Personally I believe that as long as people follow this:

“What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor: that is the whole Torah while the rest is commentary; go and learn it.”

That to me is both the teaching of Jesus and the Torah.

I cannot disagree with that, of course, and if everyone believed and practiced it we would live in a MUCH better world. That is, to me, the mission of the Jewish people - to be a “light unto the nations” (i.e. the “goyim” of our discussion). By providing the moral and intellectual basis for Christianity and Islam, Jews have done this to an extent...but there is still much work to be done.

“How gentiles (I accept this term) are not quite human? Do people believe in that? My friends don’t, but it seems like some people do?”

WRT those people, all that I can say is that among any large enough group of people you will have some incredibly depraved individuals and some who we would call saints (with most of us being somewhere in the middle). Those who believe this nonsense are sick, regardless of their degree of religiosity. Being observant (in any religion) does not a good person make - treating others well is the basis of the 3 Abrahamic religions (though I have serious problems with some of the writings of all 3), and IMHO if you want to know how good or evil a person is, observe how they treat those in a socially or economically inferior positio - if they treat them well, they’re at least decent; if they treat them like a slave or an animal...well, the conclusion is obvious. I most definitely do not subscribe to that view of ANY of our fellow human beings - which doesn’t mean that I agree with or like everyone, but people are people regardless of what they do or don’t believe. That means that they are entitled to be treated according to a certain minimum standard of politeness and decency, until such time as they’ve proven that they need to be treated otherwise (up to and including being killed for your own literal self-preservation in those extreme circumstances).

Nowhere do any of the Apostles say such a thing, nor does Jesus Himself.

The first basic tenet of the Christian faith is that Jesus Christ and His sacrificial death on the cross is the only way to be able to receive eternal salvation with God the Father. The Bible makes it very clear that there is no other name and no other way into the kingdom of God other than through the name of Jesus Christ and His sacrificial death on the cross.

If you're a Christian, I'm surprised that you do not know this. The following scriptures are quoting Jesus or an Apostle:

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” The Apostle Peter speaking of Jesus in (Acts 4:12)

“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all …” The Apostle Paul speaking of Jesus in(1 Timothy 2:5)

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and find pasture … I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Jesus speaking of Himself in (John 10:9)

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” (John 11:25)

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35)

“I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.” Jesus speaking of Himself in (John 6:51)

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” The Apostle John speaking of Jesus in (John 3:15-16)

you say that I and every other believing Jew for the last approximately 2,000 years has somehow failed to follow the law.

Yes, I do. I'm sorry if you're offended. Unless you have kept every law of Moses, every one, you have broken the law. No man will be justified by keeping the law because no man can keep it. We all fail at some point to keep the law.

To quote the Apostle Paul, "Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.”

If you have any interest in better understanding Christianity from a Jewish Christian's perspective, I suggest you read the New Testament, which is written by Jews who never stopped being Jews and also find some Jewish Believers and talk to them about your faith and vice versa.

I sincerely pray you find and be filled with the Lord's Shalom!

Nowhere does it say they are lost. Hebrews 10 makes it clear what kind of spiritual condition the lost are in.

One doesn’t need to be perfect in order to follow the Law; God provides for forgiveness of sins against Him during the 10 Days of Awe between Rosh HaShanah (the Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement). God knows our hearts and our deeds, knows very well that we are not perfect, and will forgive us (or not) as He decides. No intermediaries necessary. WRT our sins against our fellow human beings, even God cannot forgive them - we have to ask those people for their forgiveness (which is why murder is literally unforgivable on the human level - it is simply not possible to gain the forgiveness of the murder victim, though God can forgive the sin of murder if He so chooses).

The law is not subject to change, not since Deuteronomy 4:2 became part of the Torah (the 5 Books of Moses):

“Do not add to the word which I command you, nor diminish from it, to observe the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”

Christianity adds to the word commanded to us by God. Note that even Jesus himself, in your scriptures (Matthew 5:18), says not to change the law - not one jot nor tittle of it:

“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”

I don’t know how in the world you can square not changing the law in the Hebrew Bible, and Jesus’ statement that no part of the law shall pass, with all of the additions and changes made by Jesus’ followers long after he died - logically, one cannot (and don’t give me the nonsense of “you have to have faith” - faith cannot overcome the very clear wording of the law, as there is NO room for interpretation). Oh, and in case you’re tempted to say that all of the laws have been fulfilled...we’re ALL waiting for the Messiah to come, we just differ on whether it is his first trip or a do-over...so all of the Law has NOT been fulfilled.

Hebrews 10 makes it clear what kind of spiritual condition the lost are in.

Hebrews 10 makes it clear that faith in Christ and not the Law saves a person.

"It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll— I have come to do your will, my God.’ First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”—THOUGH THEY WERE OFFERED ACCORDING TO THE LAW. Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."- Hebrews 10:4-10

Your accusation that Jews who do not believe in Jesus are “lost” is utterly un-Biblical. Nowhere do any of the Apostles say such a thing, nor does Jesus Himself

Does one have to be Baptized to enter Heaven ?????

And concerning the Jews, one may say Europeans have a rather *large* obligation to do good, and not evil.

Goodness me. You sound like some deranged leftist..

Europe has been the center of massive bloodshed...

The 30 year war... etc... Millions dead.

The Holodomor... Millions dead.

There was this guy here at freerepublic..Who said something like you are thinking I suppose? That he wanted to see Europeans raped and killed and exterminated. He was Jewish. I talked to him... And, he agreed with me that his hatred was a bit irrational, but that he still had it.

My little sister was taken hostage and raped by Somalians... She is a FReeper. But, you would not care about that. She deserved it right. From a nation that had no colonies. Well, none since Greenland a thousand years ago.

I think it is wrong to accuse people on the account of their ancestors. Like what is happening in America today... People are on the hook for slavery... White supremacy forever. No matter that the vast vast majority of people never had anything to do with slavery.

af_vet.

I once respected you.

I do not respect you anymore.

You are right, Jewbacca.

Some Rabbis even use the discussions about the Noahide laws in the Talmud as a justification (another one) against gay marriage.

So the Noahide laws are good for something :)

You come off so hostile. I just really want to learn.

The main thing? I suppose?

Is about the trinity... Jews and muslims both do not like it, and some Christians too. I have discussed this a bit with both muslim and jewish scholars, but I am not much wiser.

Btw, I don’t expect you to answer it. Who can really? But, I am pursuing this discussion further with people on and off this site including actual orthodox Rabbis.

If the trinity teaching is false and jews can help me understand this - certainly that would be a great thing?

I am in Europe at the moment so,

Shabbat Shalom.
