Pennsylvania doesn’t even have a “red flag” law. What possible legal basis is there for the police to search this man’s home, much less seize his property? Unless the “relatives” own the home, they certainly have no ability to “authorize” the police to enter?
What, pray tell, can the police do for someone who is depressed? go in and sing a tune of happiness, or dance a jig? That’s not what the police are for.
So, the media were called to film the invasion. I’m sure they didn’t call the old man to tell him they were coming.

Well, that’s nice. I suppose police can now raid houses without authorization from a judge or a warrant. That Fourth Amendment was a nuisance anyway.

Now days a “Pipe Bomb” can be any spare plumbing parts you might happen to have in your garage that might be assembled into a pipe bomb, even if they are not actually assembled into one. If you do any reloading just a capped can of propellant can be classified as a “bomb” at their discretion and opinion.

There definitely needs to be some means to let the police know when there are hostile familial relations.
That is, cousin Jack who lives nearby, is an alcoholic radical leftist Democrat, filled to the brim with hatred and bile at the gun owner. He is using this trick to “swat” his relative.
And while he can get away with it once, a court order that declares him a “hostile relative” will let the police know that he is not on good terms with the gun owner, so efforts on his part to “swat” should be ignored, or maybe turned against him for filing a false report.
