A high-ranking editor at The New York Times was demoted following recent incidents that resulted in a heavy backlash on social media.
The Times confirmed to Fox News on Tuesday that the editor, Jonathan Weisman, has been demoted for his "serious lapses in judgment."
"Jonathan Weisman met with [New York Times Executive Editor] Dean Baquet today and apologized for his recent serious lapses in judgment. As a consequence of his actions, he has been demoted and will no longer be overseeing the team that covers Congress or be active on social media. We don't typically discuss personnel matters, but we're doing so in this instance with Jonathan's knowledge," a Times spokesperson told Fox News.

I think at the NY Slimes TDS takes on more than one meaning there. For sure they suffer greatly from Trump Derangement Syndrome, but they are also suffering from Truth Denial Sickness as well!

Two things.
1. He was responsible for a headline after the El Paso shooting, that failed to bash Trump (”Trump urged “unity vs. racism”). They literally had to stop the presses, and change it to ‘Assailing Hate But Not Guns’.
2. He was honest in a tweet that Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, where not really what people think of as “Midwesterners”.
He is paid to promote the Leftist Party Line, and such deviations must be crushed by the Party.

They have regularly referred to Trump (on the front page) as “the Siberian candidate.” This reference isn’t in a twitter feed, but displayed prominently “above the fold” both in the print edition front page and on the online home page.
After the Mueller report came out, saying they couldn’t find any evidence for such an assertion, how come Paul Krugman wasn’t fired?
