Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier, had previously slammed criminalizing sex with teen girls as a cultural aberration, according to a reporter who recalled the convicted pedophiles comments a year before his apparent suicide.
Epstein was unapologetic and defiant to the end in his beliefs on men sleeping with underage girls, according to New York Times reporter James Stewart.
He said that criminalizing sex with teenage girls was a cultural aberration and that at times in history it was perfectly acceptable, Stewart reported in the Times on Monday.

Maybe he was a closeted follower of a 6th-7th century prophet.
It's not a subject that many FReepers would necessarily care about unless they have underage daughters. However, there are some countries where, due to either economic or social conditions, parents have the sole responsibility for determining at what age their children can or cannot engage in sexual activity. The law is silent on the whole matter.
He’s dead Jim.
Lots of historical support for his position.
But protecting young girls is an advance, not an aberation.
Yeah you have to have underage daughters to care.
And be able to get pregnant to care about abortion.
What you said is as stupid as the abortion comment.
The whole world is open to you, brother.
Feel free to move.
These were not young women being married and protected and provided for to procreate and raise the child . They were sex toys for rich men. That is disapproved of in any long lived culture.
There are many strange laws in foreign lands, and even right here in the good old USA.
We need to correct a lot of things here (such as abortion, since you mention it) before we start trying to change the rest of the world to our liking.
Child labor, which was banned in this country 100 years ago, still exists in backward parts of the world. So does child prostitution, sad to say.
You may recall that one of the TV personalities tried to get a boycott going against some clothing manufacturer a few years back. She was aghast that they were employing children as nearly slave labor, a few dollars a day, in the Philippines.
Don't buy their stuff! It was made by little kids forced into sweatshops!
What this poor lady didn't understand, but a conservative economist (it may have been Thomas Sowell) had to tell her, politely, was that making clothing for low wages was a large step up from these children's previous employment, before the big American corporations located there.
Many of them had been "sex workers."
End of boycott.
Many female teachers today by their actions agree with him. And because vagina, no stigma or punishment for them. They go on to marry them, or even get a court to collect child support from the boys they statutorily raped.
Oh sure because Lolita is every young girls dream
I dont give a crap what other countries or cultures do. It is not the standard here and for very good reasons
DEar writer....PROVE to me he was a FINANCIER!!! Shhow me ONE TRANSACTION! ONE CLIENT....other than sicko Wexner, who GAVE him the $70 MILLION home in NYC!!
It’s the pimping and international blackmail ring part which is the problem. Anyone concerned about their age primarily is missing the plot; probably half the girls in the US of that age have already had sex.
America is not a long-lived culture, but a historically short one.
And pimping out young ladies to older men is a cultural value that has completely infused the nation. Check out all the sugar daddy stuff and how far and wide it has spread.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg has advocated that the age of consent be 12 years old. SCOTUS....maybe the biggest reason the left hates Trump.
Kate Millett founder of NOW also advocated for sex between adult women and underaged girls. She wanted to do away with age of consent laws.
Why is Kate Millett, radical dyke and militant Marxist, taught in public schools and NOW treated as some kind of sacred COW?
He could’ve worked for Planned Parenthood.
Teen Vogue pushed forth the notion to young girls this year that there is nothing wrong with being a sex worker.

Paris. Not Perris.
He should have moved in with Roman Polanski.
