Excuse me. If you think I approve of this, you are mistaken.

There are many strange laws in foreign lands, and even right here in the good old USA.

We need to correct a lot of things here (such as abortion, since you mention it) before we start trying to change the rest of the world to our liking.

Child labor, which was banned in this country 100 years ago, still exists in backward parts of the world. So does child prostitution, sad to say.

You may recall that one of the TV personalities tried to get a boycott going against some clothing manufacturer a few years back. She was aghast that they were employing children as nearly slave labor, a few dollars a day, in the Philippines.

Don't buy their stuff! It was made by little kids forced into sweatshops!

What this poor lady didn't understand, but a conservative economist (it may have been Thomas Sowell) had to tell her, politely, was that making clothing for low wages was a large step up from these children's previous employment, before the big American corporations located there.

Many of them had been "sex workers."

End of boycott.
