Sounds a lot like labeling Jewish people with a Star of David prior to WWII.
This time they will label products, rather than breaking glass and painting Stars of David on the door fronts.
Hitler based “Mein Kampf”, even plagiarized, the koran. So it should be no surprise.
How soon before European Jews are forced to wear a yellow star on their outer clothing?
This could backfire on the BDS people. Europeans, especially Central Europeans, who don’t like moslems could start preferentially buying Israeli “colonial” products.
Next time they have a problem with Nazi lowlifes, maybe they can call on Switzerland for their assistance.
The warning label need not be anything lengthy or elaborate. Simply use a Yellow Star with the word “Jude” inside. That should do the trick.
Come on dont t be silly
The headline is meant to sensationalize
The stupid title most damn well sure lead folks to think all Jewish products in the EU will be labeled which is crazy as hell
The reality is these numbnuts actually want to label Israeli goods made by Israelis in what they deem occupied territories like the West Bank
Which is a far cry from labeling Jewish goods pell mell
Title should have read:
Products from Israeli occupied Palestinian lands to be labeled as such
But no they sensationalized it and its misleading
France for instance has wineries, fashion houses, chocolate makers, banks and so forth....some are French iconic businesses owned by Jews
The headline indicates those would have been labeled
And Freepers who as a rule dont read articles went for it
The inconsistency in the whole idiotic affair is that not all products made by Israelis in the West Bank are made by Jews
Some are owned by non Jewish Israelis which make up 20-25% of Israel population so is this directed exclusively at Jews or Israelis
If its the latter then the headline is more off
Or will they determine if this West Bank product is made by Israeli Arab and exclude it..
Olive oil for example
Gotta go with drpix and mewzilla on this.
The headline is not comprehensive (headlines aren’t), misleading, or overly long (headlines aren’t). It provides an introduction to and gives a general sense of the subject matter. I would also not consider it sensational because anyone interested in the topic would certainly read and hopefully understand the article without jumping to outrage mode.
>>But itll work here since only five percent of Freepers look beyond thread title<<
Wait.
People DO THAT?
[ The Advocate General of the European Court of Justice recently issued non-binding opinion arguing that EU law requires Israeli-made products to be labeled as coming from “settlements” and “Israeli colonies.”
The decision was seen as a major win for supporters of the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, or BDS, which seeks to wage economic warfare on Israel and its citizens. Pro-Israel activists, as well as the Jewish businesses involved in the legal dispute, see the decision as an ominous warning sign that they say is reminiscent of Holocaust-era boycotts of Jewish businesses. ]
Sounds like a great plan. Now if only a man, a combination of politician and messiah-like, could arise out of Europe to strengthen a 7-year covenant that divides Israel for peace. Yes, for “peace and security”. Something that all nations want. Such a man would be “messiah-like”. Yes, yes.
Will that be right hand? Or forehead? (well that doesn’t happen until halfway through that period). Oh look a (false) prophet that calls down fire from the sky. And an image that speaks.
Cutting off heads of Tribulation saints? Oh, there are plenty of Leftists and Muslims who will volunteer for that work.
Ok
Its a 60 space headline
How about
EUROPE SET TO LABEL ISRAEL GOODS FROM WEST BANK
45 spaces and much more concise
Like I said
Its a grabber
But its a problem here cause posters rarely read beyond headlines
Look at the yellow star comments
Right now some Freepers are thinking Europe is about to label Jewish goods in general which is preposterous and impossible as well
Which means it worked just as the writer and Free Beacon intended
Which to me is propaganda basically when any media org does it
Breitbart does this too as does Drudge
Slim Pickens riding the biggest angriest wild mustang to ground zero wouldn't be good enough for Brussels and all the Socialists there.
I agree your headline is better.
“But it’s a problem here because posters rarely read beyond headlines”
Conceivable, but I disagree. I think anyone concerned about this subject would almost certainly read the article.
This entire post annoys me...its Israeli made, not Jewish made......too much of this crap here.
That's exactly the way the leftwing media would phrase it.
Easy Marvin
Its the nomenclature used by everyone but a few Freepers and West Bank settlers
Alll our presidents since 67 and 73 about Golan
Even Bibi recently said
Apr 9, 2019 · Just days before Israel was to hold national elections, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu .... Everyone says you can’t hold an occupied territory, but this proves you can, Netanyahu told ...
That was after atrump recognized Golan as israel more or less
Trump Heights now
Now as for me personally, I used to say let the IDF roll west and then south and let a pre Mandela South African army head north and annex the whole continent which would be vastly better off as a consequence
Let Israel occupy all of Arabia and Persia and ditto
So settle down
I just dont like misleading headlines especially on a forum where few read beyond that
Oh and another thing....I know Israel and Israelis way beyond just typical evangelical bible tourists in Bermudas and ball caps
I was immersed pretty much biz wise
Just to clarify
Why do you keep saying few read beyond the headline, how do you know this ?
Again, your characterization of the headline as misleading is somewhat similar (yes yours is better). While not complete, it is factual.
You have quite a bit of attention fixated on Israel, wardaddy.
ANY OTHER countries which occupy so much of your attention?
"Both people are living in the same geographic location, and yet Jewish goods are being treated differently."
"Could the discrimination be any clearer?"
-----------------------------------------------------
Did you really read the article, warrdaddy?
