Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said on Monday that he will introduce bipartisan legislation encouraging states to create "red flag" laws and that President Trump is "very supportive" of the idea.
Graham, in a statement, said he has reached a deal with Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) on a bill that would start a federal grant program to help and encourage states to create " 'red flag' protection order" laws, which are meant to make it easier for law enforcement to identify mentally ill people who should be banned from purchasing guns.

I will wait and see what actually happens down the road.
I have a mentally disabled vet in my family that in no way should ever have access to a gun.
I support keeping guns from the mentally ill but recognize that it is a slippery slope.
If you are so mentally ill that you are getting federal assistance because of it then that, perhaps, should be the line.
Yes, of course. Any combat vet, or cop for that matter that’s been in gun fights, with PTSD an no criminal record will be subject to having their 2nd Amendment right pulled. It’s how a grateful nation shows support for their protection.
Soon after, Conservatism and Christianity will be red flags.

Very, very bad.
Most red flag laws I have seen have little or no due process. All it takes is for an angry ex partner or liberal neighbor to make up a lie about you and your guns are taken away first and the YOU have to prove you aren’t a threat. Not to mention that liberals WILL use social media posts to have you labeled as a “threat”. Posts such as “Politicians who want to take away our rights should be shot”.
